| | Nite-Liters A-Nal-Y-Sis CD Nite-Liters Discography of CDs
Obscure and underappreciated, the riff-heavy grooves of A-Nal-Y-Sis make it a crate-digger's gold mine. From the opening trumpet and screaming vocal collision of "Serenade for Jive Turkey" it's plainly obvious that the New Birth's backing band, the Nite-Liters, were wilder then the average bunch when they had the freedom to jam out. And they do jam out. They're comparable to the JB's, or the Meters, but on another level, their sound is jazzy, even though it's too aggressive and groove-centered to be filed under jazz, and it's funky, but it's way more choppy and action-packed than your average party funk release. Consider it thinking-man's funk. A heavy, stone-cold rollick from start to finish, this, their last record, could be considered the best work of their career. Definitely a good starting point for the uninitiated. [Thankfully, Dusty Groove reissued this release on CD in 2009.]~ Jason Lymangrover
A masterpiece of hard and heavy funk from one of the best bands of the early 70s! The Nite-Liters were a legendary funky combo that provided the backing for some of New Birth's best albums -- but on their own, they were even funkier, and had a sound that

| | Quincy Jones Back On The Block CD (1989) Reissue; Remastered
A-Nal-Y-Sis CD music
$11.99 1989's BACK ON THE BLOCK is a producer's record in every sense of the word. Although he produced and arranged every track, Quincy Jones is rarely front and center on his own album. Instead, every track is jazzed up--and souled up and rocked up and popped up--by a galaxy of guest stars. The range is remarkable; any album that can bring together Ella Fitzgerald and Ice-T has to have something going for it. That something is Jones's uncanny ability to match artists and songs; few other producers would have thought of a Ray Charles and Chaka Khan duet, and having that song be the exhilarating "I'll Be Good To You" is just lagniappe. Jones's jazz roots show proudly throughout, most particularly on the slinky bossa nova groove of "Septembro (Brazilian Wedding Song)" and the celebratory tribute "Birdland." However, BACK ON THE BLOCK is really a concept album about the 20th century evolution of ...

A-Nal-Y-Sis songs
$12.29 Originally released in 1972, ALONE AGAIN, NATURALLY is a fine album by the eclectic and talented soul star Esther Phillips. Helmed by jazz producer Creed Taylor, and recorded with an all-star cast of fusion, soul, and jazz artists including George Benson, Maceo Parker, Ron Carter, and Billy Cobham, this is the early 1970s Creed Taylor sound adapted to pop and soul music, putting Phillips' impassioned vocals in slick, mellow soul-jazz ...

A-Nal-Y-Sis CD music
$13.59 A brand new Epic Heavy Metal band with Doom touches has emerged from the great Denmark. I received their Demo in 2007 and was blown away by the potential this band had. Martin (guitarist/songwriter) has a really unique riffing style that I love. The riffs are really catchy, heavy, and choppy (for lack of a better word). When you finally get used to his guitar playing you'll find out it's a signature sound that he developed. The combination of the Epic styled songwriting with some really subtle Doom-y sections mixed with the very young, talented, and uniquely distinct Mik on vocals puts this band to the top of the Epic Heavy/Doom metal scene. If you liked the demo at all (by the way 'Wrapped In Ruins' is again featured on this new album) the new album is definitely were you would have wanted the band to be by this time because the songwriting has exceeded the expectation. This album is a full-on conceptual, emotional trip about the pain, ...
