Love & War album for sale Product Description
Love & War album for sale by Daniel Merriweather was released Jun 02, 2009 on the Sony Music label. If you wanted to insult Daniel Merriweather's debut album, you could call it Back to Black without all the personality. Love & War CD music Like Winehouse's game-changing album, Merriweather's is also drenched in Mark Ronson's nostalgic production with all its Sam Cooke spirit and '60s R&B sophistication. The big difference here is that the Australian, twenty-something Merriweather comes with no punkish attitude, and once you take away the appearance from rapper Wale, plus the slacker heartbreak number "Getting Out" ("And now I can't get my ass off the couch because of you") you're left with a retro-soul effort that won't disrupt mom and dad's date night. Love & War CD music contains a single disc with 13 songs. ...See Full Description

| A subdued album and SOULFUL! Denniel Merriweather has made it big in a couple of appearances in the past few years. Like Robin Thicke, he's been dubbed a white boy with a black voice. His debut album comes as no surprise that like his voice, borrows from 1960's RnB, Soul and Easy hip-hop, that it's not gonna blow your ears or make you jump, indeed Mark Ronson's arrangements complement and propell Merriweather's vocal ablities to new heights. Unlike most artists that make a record to sell big, his debut is somewhat subdued and not too flashy, yet enough to make it a very enjoyable album. This record is indeed a gem in it's own right. Although some may not agree, he still has a long way to go and needs to continue searching for his potential. God bless! By jamesf_86 (KL, Malaysia) This review is for a different format. |
