It is the story of a teenager from 1985 who commandeers the time-traveling DeLorean invented by a wacky scientist friend, and is accidentally sent back in time to the 1950s. But the real problems start after he inadvertently disrupts the first meeting between his future parents--and his mom ends up falling for him instead. Eliciting help from the inventor of the time-machine (who is now thirty years younger), the young man must untangle the reverse Oedipal knot he's created, or he will never be born. If he can't influence them to fall in love, he might never exist! And if he somehow manages to succeed, he must then find a way to get "back to the future." A massive success upon its 1985 release, BACK TO THE FUTURE has since become a bona fide classic--Robert Zemeckis’s time-travel adventure has spawned sequels, theme park rides, and even a mention in Ronald Reagan’s 1986 State of the Union address. Michael J. Fox stars as Marty McFly, a restless '80s teen who takes a ride in Doc Brown’s (Christopher Lloyd) "flux capacitor"-rigged DeLorean and ends up in 1955. Once on the ground, Marty meets his teenaged mother (Lea Thompson) and accidentally wins her affections, thereby threatening the relationship she’s supposed to form with his father (the delightfully geeky Crispin Glover). Now it’s a do-or-never-be-born situation: Marty must get his parents to fall in love before Doc Brown can send him back to the proper decade.
BACK TO THE FUTURE remains one of the rare family films that enjoyed both critical and box office success, and garnered a permanent spot in the pop-culture lexicon thanks to highly-quotable dialogue. The picture garnered both Golden Globe and Oscar nods (though it lost Best Original Screenplay to WITNESS), and continues to rank as one of the top-100 highest grossing films of all time. Theatrical release: May 25, 1990.
Estimated budget: $22 million.
BACK TO THE FUTURE grossed more than $80 million at the domestic box office and more than $240 million worldwide.

Back To The Future review
$14.85 Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam epic, loosely based on the novel HEART OF DARKNESS by Joseph Conrad, tells the story of Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), a special agent sent into Cambodia to assassinate an errant American colonel (Marlon Brando). Willard is assigned to a navy patrol boat operated by Chief (Albert Hall) and three hapless soldiers (Frederic Forrest, Sam Bottoms, and Larry Fishburne). They are escorted on part of their journey by an air cavalry unit led by Lt. Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall), a gung-ho commander with a love of Wagner, surfing, and napalm. After witnessing a surreal USO show featuring Playboy playmates, and an anarchic battle with the Viet Cong at a bridge, Willard reaches Colonel Kurtz's compound. A crazed photojournalist and Kurtz groupie (Dennis Hopper) welcomes the crew, and Willard begins to question his orders to "terminate the colonel's command." The grueling production and Coppola's insistence on authenticity led to vast budget overruns and physical and emotional breakdowns. Considered to be one of the best war movies of all time, APOCALYPSE NOW features skilled performances and beautifully chaotic visuals that make it a powerful, unforgettable work.
This collection presents both the 1979 original and the 2001 restored and updated version, with 49 minutes of never-before-seen footage, a Technicolor enhancement, and a six-channel soundtrack.
This 2 DVD set includes the film and Apocalypse Redux. Extras include commentary by Francis Ford Coppola, additional and expanded scenes, featurettes, post-production, and making of footage.

| | Adventurers DVD (1970) Widescreen; Subtitled
Back To The Future film
$9.65 Set in anarchic South America, THE ADVENTURERS is a thunderously charged 1970s political action-thriller. Bekim Fehmiu stars as Dax Xenos, a troubled playboy whose politico father was killed during a revolution. Searching for enlightenment, Xenos travels from woman to woman in an attempt to cope with his tumultuous childhood. After having an affair with the older and refined widow Deborah Hadley (Olivia de Havilland), he switches gears and falls for the young and sultry Sue Ann Daley (Candice Bergen). The two have a child, but when tragedy strikes and their son is killed, Xenos breaks down and leaves her, opting to seek revenge on his father's murderer, Rojo (Alan Badel).
Produced as an end note to the 1960s, THE ADVENTURERS showcases some of the more risqué social trends of the time on both a micro (infidelity, drug use, debauchery, lesbianism) and macro (totalitarianism) scale and then attempts to explain their origins. In one of his darker films, director Lewis Gilbert manages to save viewers from the pitch blackness of utter despair by serving up some of his witty British-isms. Racy nudity and the well timed appearance of Ernest Borgnine as Fat Cat come as welcome bits of comedy relief in this otherwise bleak film. An underrated film that shares themes with works like Shakespeare's HAMLET and Gunter Grass's THE TIN DRUM, the overbearing melancholic truths of THE ADVENTURERS evoke both a crippling sadness for humanity and a hope for future generations to come.
A rich playboy leads a life of destruction. Candice Bergen, Olivia de Havilland, and Ernest Borgnine.

Back To The Future film
$14.59 Harvey Keitel stars as a nameless New York cop, hopelessy addicted to drugs, gambling, and sex, in this intense, hallucinatory portrait of sin and redemption by Abel Ferrara. The film follows the lieutenant as he makes his way to various crime scenes, concerned only with taking bets from his fellow cops on the outcome of the ongoing National League playoffs. As his bad decisions drive him deeper into debt, his life becomes a surreal hell, with a constant intake of crack, coke, heroin, and booze eroding what remains of his sanity. An investigation into the rape of a nun (Frankie Thorn) leads to his spiritual breakdown at the church crime scene, where he sees Jesus and the road to his salvation. This gutsy, highly original tale is one of Ferrara's most perfectly realized films and a pinnacle in the career of Keitel, whose performance transcends the screen in its sheer bravery.
