L.A. Woman album for sale Product Description

L.A. Woman album for sale by Doors was released Sep 15, 2009 on the Elektra (Label) label. Each CD cover has been crafted by hand to recreate the original see-through cover art. L.A. Woman CD music The final Doors album to feature vocalist Jim Morrison reaffirmed the quartet's grasp of blues-rock. L.A. Woman buy CD music Beset by personal and professional problems, they retreated to a rehearsal room, cast pressures aside, and recorded a handful of their most memorable compositions. The overall sound of the record is relatively stripped down, but the musicianship is uniformly excellent, with empathetic interplay between guitarist Robbie Krieger and keyboard player Ray Manzarek.   ...See Full Description

faithfull to the original but more beautiful
i think this is the only remix we really needed by the doors. that's why the original LP "L.A.Woman" was recorded too quickly, after the great producer paul rothchild had left the band. The LP was a kind of live session and suffered a lack of experience during the mixing in studio. the original team (the survival components of the band and bruce botnick)40 years later, provides a remedy to these little mistakes. especially in the central section of L.A.Woman where they double the vocals and in The changeling. the blues "Cars hiss by my window" is another original version, much better and complete than the preceeding. You can find an adding original verse sung by morrison, which is the best one ("Dog crawled out of my window in the cruel morning yard")which closes the song better, either musically or poetically. You can find also "Orange county suite" an extra song that jim wanted to be included in the LP, well arranged by the doors. So the remix is faithfull and even better than the original. the only defect is the final blues sung by manzarek which has a different mood (good for a disney's cartoon but not for an existentialist work as L.A.Woman).

Riding Out The Final Turbulent Storm
"L.A. Woman" picks up on the moody existentialist theme that was initiated on "Morrison Hotel". The blues influence is heavier with a moderate sprinkling of jazz interwoven into the musical tapestry. Jim Morrison's voice has deepened (or was it damaged?) and that depth fits the music to a "T". "Been Down So Long" and "Cars Hiss By My Window", the two most blues-influenced cuts, seem oddly stripped of Ray Manzarek's trademark keyboard sound, but are as effective as had Howlin' Wolf performed them. The title track is a fierce rocker where all the instruments rip and burn, a fitting lament to a city that Morrison now saw as diseased. "Riders On The Storm" fittingly closes the album, a harrowing paean to a life lived on the edge and that has now reached the opening of a dark, yawning abyss. The only weak points are "L'America", a potent psychedelic rocker that seems oddly out of place on the disc (it was intended for the cult flick "Zabriskie Point" but Antonioni decided against its use) and the bonus piece "You Need Meat", a Chicago blues cover sung by Manzarek, that should have remained solely on the "Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine" compilation. "L.A. Woman" is the fitting finale for the Doors tenure as an influential quartet and makes a perfect listen as you listen to the ominous pitter-patter of the smokey grey rains hitting the pavement.

"Where's the Bass?"
An excellent album except for one flaw. There's not much in the way of bass. The tracks sound a bit flat. I would have given it a 5 but for this reason I give it a 3.
