Gordon Lightfoot Complete Greatest Hits CD (2002) Top Seller
Hungry for Kicks: Singles & Choice Cuts 1965-69 album for sale Digitally remastered by Andrew Garver, Dan Hersch, and Bill Inglot.
He may be remembered by the unenlightened as a purveyor of mellow '70s AM radio hits, but Gordon Lightfoot is as fine a singer-songwriter as Canada has ever produced (no small accomplishment, considering the company), feted by no less than Bob Dylan himself. COMPLETE GREATEST HITS is as definitive a Lightfoot collection as you can get onto a single disc, and it bears out the aforementioned facts handsomely. "Early Morning Rain," one of Lightfoot's earliest hits, is a poignant evocation of lost love on a par with Merle Haggard's "Silver Wings." "If You Could Read My Mind" has enough introspective pop savvy to compete with Elton John's equally ubiquitous "Your Song." The bluesy, subtly sensual undercurrent of "Sundown" makes it plain why there's always been such a large female contingent in Lightfoot's audience, and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" proves that the pop star can write a timeless-sounding folk ballad worthy of Townes Van Zandt. Clearly, this compendium presents Lightfoot quite rightly as a man for all seasons.
20 classic hits released by United Artists, Reprise and Warner Bros. From 1965 to 1987. features the hits 'Sundown', 'If You Could read My Mind', 'The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald', 'Carefree Highway' and many more!

Neil Young American Stars 'N Bars CD (1977)
Hungry for Kicks: Singles & Choice Cuts 1965-69 songs All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
Released right after the career albums TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT and ZUMA and right before the big-selling COMES A TIME and RUST NEVER SLEEPS, this country-rocky 1977 album is often forgotten. But it introduced the sensational "Like A Hurricane," which has remained a staple of Young's concerts, and such quirky favorites as "Homegrown," an ode to marijuana, and "Old Country Waltz," which is exactly what it says it is. As Neil Young's legendary 1970s albums go, it might be a bit of a tossed-off affair, but most country-rockers can only dream of making one album this good.
2003 remastered reissue of 1977 album. This roots 'n' rock album features guests, Emmylou Harris & Linda Ronstadt, & the fan favorite 'Like A Hurricane'. The album initially peaked at #21 & achieved gold status. Nine tracks. Reprise.

Stephen Stills Just Roll Tape CD (2007)
Hungry for Kicks: Singles & Choice Cuts 1965-69 album for sale In fact, the whole night seems designed by the infamously raw producer David Briggs: tracks are brisk, mistakes are kept, the sound is rough, and every song sounds like a first take. And what a string of first takes: "So Begins the Task"--later released on MANASSAS--anticipates the finger-picked bleakness of DEJA VU's "4 & 20"; "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" finds particular starkness as a solo song despite the jubilant open chords; and "The Doctor Will See You Now" holds its own against anything in Young's catalog. While his songwriting and guitar playing are stellar, Stills's voice is equally stunning, with its tender, affecting rasp making an AM weeper like "Helplessly Hoping" sound tough. A rough gem of a listen, but a must-have for any fans of Stills or of Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Over the years since Neil Young's godlike status has grown, it is easy to forget about the jaw-dropping breadth of talent that was Crosby, Stills & Nash, his sometimes former bandmates. Crosby had the silken voice and Nash the impossibly high harmony, but, as the remarkable official bootleg JUST ROLL TAPE: April 26th 1968 proves, Stephen Stills was a complete talent as a singer, writer, and guitarist. Reportedly recorded in one long take after he bribed the engineer of a Judy Collins session on the title date to continue recording long into the night, JUST ROLL TAPE is what its title suggests: a roll of inspired performances of songs from Still's embryonic catalog just before Crosby and Nash's angelic voices stormed the pop charts with him.
Personnel: Stephen Stills (dobro).

Creedence Clearwater Revival Singles Collection CDs (2009)
Hungry for Kicks: Singles & Choice Cuts 1965-69 CD music The 2009 Singles Collection offers something that the many other previous Creedence Clearwater Revival compilations do not: the band's A-sides and B-sides presented complete and in chronological order, plus a DVD containing the five promo clips CCR released ("Sweet Hitch-Hiker," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Bootleg," "I Put a Spell on You," "Lookin' Out My Back Door"). This focus means there are songs here that never make most CCR hits collections -- the A-side "Porterville," but generally flips like "Call It Pretending," "Walk on the Water," "Door to Door," and "Tearin' Up the Country," plus the "45 Revolutions Per Minute" oddity -- but apart from that, this covers familiar, albeit still enjoyable, territory.~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
This DVD/2 CD set includes the complete U.S. singles collection presented in their original mixes for the first time in over 40 years! The DVD presents 4 CCR videos plus a collectible poster! Also included is a special 16-page booklet with all-new liner notes by rock historian Ben Fong-Torres.
