| | Spencer, Paul & The Maxines Whatever Forever & Ever CD Spencer, Paul & The Maxines Discography of CDs
The new Paul Spencer & The Maxines album, entitled "Whatever Forever and Ever", is the sound of a band immersed in 70's AM radio rock."I Was Doing Great (Before I Met You)" and "Rite On Time" are both steeped in 12-String Rickenbackers, tambourines and Beatlesque harmonies - the first sounding like Tom Petty circa '78, while "Rite On Time" is pure Byrds jingle-jangle folk rock. A tasteful cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy" uses a Mellotron to great effect, while horns give the rocker "Crash City" a Quadrophenia-era Who feel."Summer In the Spring", "Burning Up from the Inside" and "Top of My Head, Bottom of My Soul" combine acoustic guitar, slide guitar, Fender Rhodes and strings to create a wall of sound that is very 70s - at times, it recalls some of the work of Al Stewart and Paul Simon from that decade."The Calm After the Storm" is sprinkled with psychedelia and has an Eastern-tinged bridge; Paul Opalach's backwards guitar solo is a sonic beauty and one of the record's highlights. The calypso-flavored "Double Tunnel Vision" is a light fun tune; "No Good Reason" is drenched in bluesy Americana, while the catchy "Project Serpo" manages to fuse Beach Boys-style harmonies with theremin sounds.Skillfully produced by Opalach, "Whatever Forever and Ever" is the type of album that tends to reveal its charms over repeated listens. Displaying many influences, a few of which were hinted on the EP "Either Sunset or Sunrise", it also shows a band unafraid of experimentation. Whatever Forever & Ever album
$15.45 When he was recording his debut album in 2006, Chris Daughtry didn't have the time to assemble the real rock band he so desperately wanted to have, so it appeared under the band name Daughtry without featuring any of the musicians who later became part of the group. That's not the case with LEAVE THIS TOWN, Daughtry's second record: all five members ...

Whatever Forever & Ever CD music
$12.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. And it's ...

Whatever Forever & Ever songs
$11.15 Steve Baskin and the band were holed up at Real to Reel studio and Steve's Underground Studio at the end of 2008 and early 2009 recording the follow up to his debut album, "I Sometimes Think". "Naked" is the new album and its themes run all over the place – love; love gone bad; running; the stress of the office; the Zen of the river; runaways; prostitution; and death. In a 2007 article from The Valdosta Daily Times, "I Sometimes Think" was described as “a poppy blend of groove and soul with a nice slice of edge.” In a recent article, the newspaper contends that Naked is both more raw in its emotional impact while more refined in its musicianship and production. This second CD maintains a pop quality fueled with a charging rock attitude. And it’s just some unvarnished ...
