| | Fabolous Loso's Way CD Fabolous Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
There are very few frills to Fabolous's style; the NYC rapper merely spits witty rhymes over bouncy, dance-floor-ready beats out of the P. Diddy school. On his fourth studio album (second for Def Jam), 2009's LOCO'S WAY, the sprawl-drawled MC continues to provide the world with Summery jams like its debut single, "My Time."
A concept album from a punch line rapper is an unattractive proposition, so it's fortunate that LOSO'S WAY strays off topic even more than Jay-Z's AMERICAN GANGSTER. Named after Fabolous' own feature film - made available in a limited-edition version of the album - LOSO'S WAY is inspired by the Al Pacino vehicle Carlito's Way. Other than a track named after the character "Pachanga" plus a couple other references within the rhymes, this is actually a standard issue Fabolous album with big singles, plenty of laugh-out-loud lyrics, and the usual fun redundancy.

Must have if your a fan of FAB! One of the best albums in '09! Submitted by brndnbtlr85 (Pennsylvania, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent Fabolous has outdone himself on this album. Every track is classic and I could ride to the whole album. Fab's lyrics have improved over the years and it shows in Loso's Way. I don't have a favorite track because they are all good. For anyone who is a true Fabolous fan, this album is a must buy. Fab keep doing your thing and forget about the haters. | | Trey Songz Ready CD (2009)
Loso's Way
$15.65 Nobody could accuse R&B torch singer Trey Songz of ADD. From the intro of his third record, READY, Trey is focused on seduction, sometimes sensual to the level of sex-crazed, sometimes vulnerable, but always swaggering. Songs like "I Invented Sex" and "Neighbors Know My Name" are as straightforward and brash ...
| | Jeremih CD (2009)
Loso's Way
$10.55 Coming on the heels of his number four Billboard Hot 100 single, "Birthday Sex," rising R&B star Jeremih releases his eponymous full-length album. A well-crafted set of modern urban soul, the set is produced by Mick Schultz and, surprising for an emerging artist in the '00s, does not feature any guest spots, allowing Jeremih's singing and songwriting prowess to take center stage.
There's more to Jeremih's debut album than "Birthday Sex," a bedroom ballad that became a major summertime crossover hit a la J. Holiday's "Bed." Outside of the startlingly direct delivery of its title and the stuttering effect that comes into play whenever Jeremih sings ...
| | Jay-Z The Blueprint 3 CD (2009)
Loso's Way
$15.65 On THE BLUEPRINT 3, still unretired Jay-Z announces "the only rapper to rewrite history without a pen." It's a standard Jigga boast, but the Brooklyn icon has earned the bragging by backing it up, particularly on his gold-label, top-shelf BLUEPRINT series. Ever-ready for battle, Jay-Z takes on autotune, crossover radio, and many other hip-hop concerns with the gloriously jagged rap elan for which he's become known.
When Jay-Z first made a series out of his best album, 2001's The Blueprint, it became ...

Loso's Way
$14.45 From the start of its bomb-dropping opening track, "The Return," you can immediately hear what makes State of the Art different than the rest of the Hilltop Hoods' back catalog: musicians. Not the full orchestra they employed on The Hard Road: Restrung, although the classical influence does show up a few times, but rather guitar and bass and drums. Members of fellow Adelaide band Lowrider as well as other instrumentalists are scattered throughout State of the Art like toppings on a pizza. The chipmunk soul that came to define the Hoods (and a lot of Australian hip-hop in their wake) is gone. They still use the stop/pause/BAM pattern they specialize ...
