Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Sensor Matic David Duchovny (THE X-FILES) returns to the small screen as Hank Moody, a hangdog novelist on the skids in L.A. When not hopping into the sack with any woman who bats her eyes at him, Hank struggles to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend, Karen (Natascha McElhone), and their young daughter, Becca (Madeleine Martin). A lingering case of writer's block--due to the abysmal big-screen adaptation of his novel--and the entrance of a new man in Karen's life don’t help matters any. But while chain-smoking and living inside a whiskey bottle, Hank makes a few clumsy steps toward putting his life back on track. With a permanent five o'clock shadow and charmingly slurred speech, Duchovny is perfect as a loveable loser who never quite loses the audience's sympathy. This second season finds Hank getting back together with Karen, although their reconciliation is quickly put into jeopardy by the usual cause: an over-imbibed Hank. Californication - The Complete Second Season DVD
$14.39 Subtitled "The Untold Story of the Rise of Genghis Khan," director Sergei Bodrov's sweeping MONGOL focuses on battles physical and emotional as it follows the early ascent of the "Great King" in the 12th and 13th centuries. Born Temudgin to a kingly father, the film introduces the nine-year-old Temudgin (Odnyam Odsuren) making his first fateful decision: going against his father's wishes and choosing the lesser-born Borte as his future wife. When his father is poisoned, Temudgin flees from his father's rivals. Temudgin is saved by a young prince, Jamukha, and the two become blood brothers. That bond of friendship is tested, though, when the grown Temudgin (Tadanobu Asano) wages war--against the Mongol code--to win back the captive Borte. As Temudgin asserts his own power, he must also face Jamukha in all-out battle if he is to secure the safety of his family and his own kingly destiny. Gorgeously shot on location in Kazakhstan and Inner Mongolia, MONGOL represents the first in a proposed ...

Californication - The Complete Second Season film
$7.05 The hilarious DONOVAN'S REEF, one of John Ford's rare but memorable forays into comedy, is set on the South Sea island of Haleakoloha, where two navy buddies have decided to stay after World War II. Michael "Guns" Donovan (John Wayne) and Aloysius "Boats" Gilhooley (Lee Marvin), who like to celebrate their mutual birthday every year by trying to beat the hell out of each other, are enacting the ritual in Guns's bar, Donovan's Reef. Dr. William Dedham (Jack Warden), scion of a wealthy family and another societal dropout, breaks up the fight after an appropriate amount of damage has been done. He soon learns that his very proper daughter, Amelia (Elizabeth Allen), is about to arrive from Boston, unaware that he's had three children by a Polynesian princess. Dedham persuades Guns to pretend to be the father of his kids during the visit in order to be spared Amelia's wrath. While Dedham's daughter is initially put off by the juvenile antics of Donovan's crew, the tavern owner's feelings toward her are far more positive. After she beats him in a swimming competition, she begins to see his appeal. Filmed in Kauai, Hawaii, this entertaining family-oriented comedy is stoked with broad physical gags and the inspired tomfoolery of the cast. The most notable performance belongs to Wayne, who ends his long, hugely successful, and artistically triumphant collaboration with Ford on a high and suitably ...
