Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Amaray Case Joe Hallenbeck, a one-time secret service man who has fallen from grace and become a small-time private eye, gets assigned to protect the stripper girlfriend of a football player banned from the league for gambling. When, despite his efforts, the stripper is murdered, Hallenbeck and the football player team up to figure out who's behind the killing. Bruce Willis stars as Joe Hallenbeck, a disillusioned former Secret Service agent who has hit rock bottom as a detective for hire. His marriage is on the rocks, his adolescent daughter has a smart mouth, he drinks too much, and he's broke. Hallenbeck takes an assignment protecting Cory (Halle Berry), the stripper girlfriend of Jimmy Dix (Damon Wayans), a former professional football player banned from the league for gambling. When Cory is murdered gangland style, Hallenbeck teams up with the former football hero to find the killers. Their search leads them deep into the world of professional football, politics, legalized gambling and sadistic hitmen. LETHAL WEAPON screenwriter Shane Black wrote the script for this violent, action-packed thriller directed by Tony Scott (TOP GUN, TRUE ROMANCE). Willis plays Hallenbeck with a sadistic glint in his eye and a deathwish. Wayans is convincing as Dix, an athlete who loses everything when he's banned from the game he loves and turns to drugs for consolation. Theatrical release: December 31, 1991.
Filmed on location in Los Angeles, California.
Screenwriter Shane Black, who wrote the scripts for the popular LETHAL WEAPON series, was reportedly paid $1.75 million for this screenplay as the result of a bidding war between several studios.
Vern Lundquist, Dick Butkus and Lynne Swan appear as themselves.

The Bandit's has taken on his craziest haul yet: a trailer full of Coors beer. If he can deliver the goods from Texarcana to Atlanta within forty-eight hours, he'll be $80,000 richer. In ASTRO BOY, a doctor who has lost his own son uses his genius as well as his grief to create a robot boy named Astro. As a robot, Astro is capable of incredible physical feats--but he is also capable of inner strength ...

Last Boy Scout video
$9.69 British director Ridley Scott may not seem a logical choice for this truly American crime drama, but the filmmaker does an excellent job. The film is based on a true story and set in 1968 Harlem, where Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) is a driver for Bumpy Johnson, one of the top figures in the city's criminal world. When Bumpy dies, Lucas swoops in, taking over his predecessor's empire and expanding it over the next few years with his sale of a particularly potent brand of heroin. Meanwhile, New Jersey cop Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) begins to investigate the New York drug world and discovers that there's a new power in town.
Thanks to screenwriter Steve Zallian, as well as Washington and Crowe, AMERICAN GANGSTER creates a convincing portrait of two men who are neither entirely good nor entirely bad. Washington plays Lucas as a man who buys his mother a palatial home but doesn't hesitate to beat his brother's head against a window. Crowe's Roberts may turn in a million-dollar find, but he cheats on his wife. Sadly, they only meet onscreen toward the end of the film, but the minimal interaction between the two Oscar winners is fascinating. Even though the focus is on Lucas and Roberts, AMERICAN GANGSTER is filled with a wealth of strong characters played by talented ...
