See You In Hell album
$9.09 For the past few decades, Al Jarreau has established himself as a truly modern jazz singer, one for the post-fusion generation--those who grew up with the sounds of the cordial contemporary jazz of George Benson, Spyro Gyra, and Herbie Hancock. CHRISTMAS is Jarreau's first-ever collection of holiday songs on which he wraps his supple, honeyed vocal chords around some traditional Christmas classics. Jazz vocal combo Take 6 lend their voices for "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and the considered, varied arrangements of Jay Graydon and Jarreau himself keep the proceedings interesting.
Arrangers: Chris Walker ; Clare Fischer; Brent Fisher; Joe Turano; David Witham; Jay Graydon; Al Jarreau; Larry Williams ; Jorge Calandrelli.

| | Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played CD (2005)
See You In Hell music CDs
$11.29 Released in celebration of Les Paul's 90th birthday, AMERICAN MADE WORLD PLAYED pays tribute to the master guitarist and inventor who changed the face of jazz, country, blues, and rock with his recording and guitar-design innovations. While the lineup here is stellar and includes vocalists Sting, Joss Stone, and Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), and guitarists Joe Perry (Aerosmith) and Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), among others, the album is at its best when it allows Paul to shine in an instrumental setting, as on the slinky rendition of Duke Ellington's "Caravan" and the funky "69 Freedom Special."
Recording information: Capitol Studios, Hollywood, CA; East Side Sound, New York, NY; Il Palagio, Italy; Instructo Corporation Studios, Mahwah, NJ; London, England; Sailor Studios; The Record Plant, Los Angeles, CA.

Arranger: Kenneth Cummings.

| | Boney James Send One Your Love CD (2009)
See You In Hell songs
$15.15 Along with Dave Koz and Gerald Albright, Boney James has carved out a nice niche for himself as one of the most popular smooth jazz saxophonists ever. Now, Mr. James has gone and done a concept album, with the (eternal) concept being Valentine's Day love. His melodious, suave sax playing brings out the amorous best in choice selections by Barry White, Stevie Wonder, and James Taylor, whose "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" features singer R&B singer Quinn, something of a Boney James discovery.

| | Rosemary Clooney Songs From White Christmas (And Other Yuletide Favorites) CD (1997)
See You In Hell album
$5.69 All the material on Songs from White Christmas (And Other Yuletide Favorites) was recorded in the mid-'50s, when Rosemary Clooney was at something of a peak. Her voice was supple, her popularity high, and she was working with such luminaries as Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington. Here, she doesn't flex her jazz muscles, which is only appropriate since holiday music sounds best when it's delivered straight. And Songs from White Christmas is certainly delivered straight, complete with lush orchestras and sweet arrangements. That approach results in a lovely, warm-hearted Christmas album that's an ideal choice not only for fans of Clooney, but also fans of traditional and easy-listening pop from the '50s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Recorded between 1951 & 1956. Includes liner notes by Didier C. Deutsch.
Personnel: Rosemary Clooney (vocals); Gene Autry, Paul Weston & His Orchestra, Percy Faith & His Orchestra, Mellomen.
Personnel includes: Rosemary Clooney, Gene Autry (vocals); The Mellomen, Paul Weston & His Orchestra, Tony Mottola & His Orchestra.
| | Ray Davies Kinks Choral Collection CD (2009)
See You In Hell CD music
$14.38 Orchestral and choral arrangements of rock songs have been a curious subgenre ever since the mid-'60s when Andrew Loog Oldham arranged The Rolling Stones Songbook for syrupy strings, but The Kinks Choral Collection stands apart from the pack for the simple reason that it's not the project of some associate or admirer, but rather chief Kink Ray Davies. His very presence as arranger and lead vocal means The Kinks Choral Collection isn't nearly as stuffy and middlebrow as so many of these orchestral rock albums; he manages to inject some semblance of rock & roll by pushing the songs forward with guitar, and letting the rhythms swing instead of plod. This looseness is the first big surprise of the album. The second is its unrepentant but quite possibly accidental silliness, how many of the major guitar riffs are transposed for choir, an audacious idea in concept that's simply goofy in practice. These choral chants hamper the hardest rocking songs here -- "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," "Victoria" -- and they're mercifully absent from the slower tunes, songs that benefit from the gentle layered harmonies. In comparison to most orchestral and choral rock albums, these arrangements are subtle and sensitive, providing a nice counterpart for the surprising dose of rock & roll, both things that make The Kinks Choral Collection one of the better entries in this curious subgenre -- and while that's somewhat faint praise, it's praise all the same. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
2009 release from legendary British Rock icon Ray Davies, who returns with all your favorite Kinks songs backed by the spectacular Crouch End Festival Chorus. Singer/songwriter Davies fronted The Kinks from their inception in the '60s until their dissolution three decades later in the early '90s (although there have been hints of a reunion in recent years). This must-have album includes brand new renditions of 15 Kinks klassics including `Waterloo Sunset', `You Really Got Me', `All Day an

| | Nelly Mauras & Kurt Hawthorne Traffic Jams CD (2009)
See You In Hell songs
$18.99 A collaboration between musicians Nelly Mauras and Kurt Hawthorne, Traffic Jams is a beautiful compilation of original arrangements of old and new songs. Each track has its own various flavors of jazz, latin beats, and contemporary and traditional Christian music, performed with grace and incredible talent by Nelly and Kurt. Heart Behind The CDāFor me Traffic Jams began simply as a fun project with Kurt Hawthorne, this amazing musician who at the time was the bandleader at my church. We began meeting at his garage studio recording, improvising, jamming. We painstakingly began picking known pieces and making fresh new arrangements, with new chording, new runs, transitions and endings. Other songs were Kurtās own creations. My Puerto Rican Latin roots and Kurtās own exposure growing up to the melting pot of south Florida music gave us perhaps a slightly different notion of rhythm, so we āLatinizedā common worship songs. The project was a tremendous amount of work and a great deal of fun. We offer it as a way for the tired to chill, the stressed out to unwind, and the spiritually hungry to just let go and worship. Hope you enjoy it!ā-NellyThe road of life is one of uncertain horizons. Well-calculated courses can quickly find delays, detours & setbacks with every turn. Though trials are common to all, our ability to face obstacles & keep moving becomes essential in reaching our destinations. For me, acknowledging this reality as sovereignā¦facing fear as it comes⦠& deeply embracing the lessons embedded in failure, keep producing more adventure out of every moment than I thought possible.Utilizing smooth jazz sounds, I teamed up with the skillful Nelly Mauras to record these songs - with hopes to lace the ongoing tensions of life with an infusion of hope & deep purpose for the journey. The āTraffic Jamsā of life are destined to meet us with incredible insensitivity & for sure⦠with certain regularity. When they slow us down, when they stop us⦠can we find the melodies, the harmonies⦠the rhythms and the chorus amidst the roar? It is our hope that you can.-KurtAbout The MusiciansNelly Mauras was born in Puerto Rico and studied music in junior high and high school at the Free School of Music in San Juan. She then attended the Music Conservatory in San Juan majoring in classical flute under the mentorship of Peter Kern.
