| | Lita Ford Wicked Wonderland CD (2009) Bonus Tracks
Bow Wow music CDs
$14.19 Though former Runaways guitarist Lita Ford has been absent from the recording industry since 1997, she hasn't exactly been idle. After releasing Kiss Me Deadly, her final album after a string of them in the '80s and '90s, the music scene -- and the industry with it -- changed, and alternative ruled the airwaves. Ford got married to Jim Gillette, former vocalist with hair metal rockers Nitro, and started a family. In addition, she relocated to the Caribbean. Wicked Wonderland is uncharacteristic of the pop-metal she released a decade ago. It's an in-your-face metal record, but ultimately it's a very studied and calculated 21st century pop-metal record. It's an album with explicit sexual content, examining S&M, bondage, power exchanges, and all manner of kink and crave in lyrics, words, and sleeve images. Ford wrote all of these songs with her co-producers Greg Hampton and Gillette. Gillette is also either a duet partner or backing vocalist on every track here. Hampton handles bass, keyboard, and other sonic duties, and there are a pair of drummers who alternate in Chris Collier and Stet Howland. The album's first single (and longest track), "Bed," was released ...

$40.95 Rock is all about excess, and this Metallica boxed set embodies that principle. For die-hard fans of the metal band (or those soon to be converts), this mammoth collection features more than eight hours of concert footage. The three audio CDs span five days' worth of shows in Mexico City in 1993. Fans can watch a pair of classic shows from ...
| | Kiss Lick It Up CD (1983) Remastered
Bow Wow album
$6.49 Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
September 18, 1983 is a day that will go down in Kisstory. It was then that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and replacement members Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr took off their signature makeup and revealed themselves on MTV. LICK IT UP was released, and a new chapter unfolded.
Using the same production team as CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, Michael James Jackson, Simmons and Stanley came up with the same bone crunching sound as CREATURES, but with a slightly more polished feel. "Exciter" kicks off the album with a machine gun riff, which leads into Gene Simmons proclaiming he's "Not For The Innocent". ...
| | Jesu Opiate Sun CD (2009) Digipak; Extended Play
Bow Wow CD music
$8.49 Whether or not it is his intention, Justin Broadrick's Jesu project continues to move into ever more song-oriented material, while never lessening the volume or the sheer melodic thud of his attack. Opiate Sun is released on Mark Kozelek's Cabo Verde imprint. Initially, it was conceived as the first of a projected two-part EP idea: Broadrick originally wanted each EP to feature a collaboration between his live (Dave Cochrane and Phil Petrocelli) and studio (Ted Parsons and Diarmuid Dalton) bands. In the end, Broadrick rejected the idea and plays everything here himself and combines all four songs on one release. Does that narrow the possibilities for the final product? Yes, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. These songs cover just under 26 minutes in length. The opener, "Losing Streak," comes dangerously close to a cough syrup-intoxicated Swervedriver -- with Broadrick's way up-front vocal sounding not unlike that of Adam Franklin, but it's even heavier, sludgier, and -- conversely -- more melodic. ...
| | Venetian Snares Higgins Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits, 1972-2006 CD (2002)
Bow Wow music CDs
$14.69 With Higgins Ultra Low Track Glue Funk Hits, 1972-2006, Venetian Snares (aka Aaron Funk) seems to be trying to mix every possible musical style with his own trademark drill'n'bass. Ornate Asian instrumentals mingle freely with a female opera vocalist's tender tones, a dub toaster shouts and laughs over warped, rapid beats, a jazz band warms up under funky, shuffling Jake Slazenger-style electronica, a lone clarinet cries out through punishing sound effects. But for every track that seeks a fusion of musical styles, there's ...

Bow Wow music CDs
$16.45 Jay started playing guitar at age 14. By age 17 he was already in his first professional group, "Johnny Carroll and the Texas Moonlighters". By age 19 Jay had already recorded with Johnny and appeared in the movie "Rock Baby, Rock It", now a cult classic, even scoring some original music for the sound track. Shortly after this, he appeared on a tour with Johnny Horton. After a stint with the Air Force, he became a factory representative for Rickenbacker guitars, traveling in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada and California. During this time he met Roger Shaw, a fine vocalist and rhythm guitarist and Sam Desmond, Roger's bassist. The three later worked in the San Francisco Bay Area as a trio. After a couple of years in the Bay Area, a recording opportunity opened up in Denver, Colorado. The next few years saw Jay as a part owner in Summit Studios, as well as performing nightly and eventually putting together the well remembered group Synchrony, arguably the best show group that Colorado has ever seen. Jay subsequently appeared in several other groups including Impulse in which he worked with Patty for the first time. Several groups later Jay and Patty were still together in more ways than music, getting married in 1976. A four piece group named Perfect Match that was doing very well, but proved to be a revolving door for drummers and bass players, was the final straw for trying to keep together competent, sober and serious musicians. From that four piece group came the duo which is still together today. They kept the name and it has proved to be true.Patty Salam showed her early promise as a winner of "Stars of Tomorrow". But life and marriage intervened. So it was after a divorce that she decided to do what she had always wanted to do -- sing. She auditioned for and won a job with Lee Sims and the Platte River Band performing with them for several months before moving on. She was working with Tim Peterson when she was seen by Jesse Dawkins of Impulse and he decided on the spot that she would be right for that group. That was the first of several groups in which she worked with Jay. It was during the stint with Impulse, performing at Taylor's Supper ...
