Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford virtually created the archetypal metal look with his studded leather garb, and the band's ultra-clean, technophilic riffing, and fleet dual lead guitars set the standard for power metal on an arena-filling scale. This is the band's fifth live album, and it's much closer in quality to 1979's glorious UNLEASHED than any of the others. Part of that was no doubt due to the state of the band in the 21st century: Halford's 2004 return lit a fire under the others, and the two studio albums they released immediately following were among their most satisfying and, in the case of 2008's NOSTRADAMUS, shockingly ambitious. This disc, recorded on tour in 2005 and 2008, features one song from ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION and two from NOSTRADAMUS ("Prophecy" and the crushing "Death"), and otherwise concentrates on deep album cuts from the band's copious back catalog. Fans are spared one more run-through of "Breaking the Law" or "Electric Eye," instead getting thunderous versions of "Between the Hammer and the Anvil" from 1988's underrated RAM IT DOWN, the powerful "Beyond the Realms of Death" and "Dissident Aggressor," a song so heavy that even the mighty Slayer couldn't do much but speed it up a bit when they covered it for SOUTH OF HEAVEN. The band even busts out "Eat Me Alive," their hilariously PMRC-baiting sex anthem from 1984's DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH. This rip-roaring live set proves that even nearly 40 years into the band's career, Priest still delivered one of the best shows in metal.

Touch Of Evil: Live Music Judas Priest Touch Of Evil: Live Songs Touch Of Evil: Live Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) Judas Priest Just Keeps Getting Better. These guys are in their late fifties and haven't lost any steam with aging. This cd is proof of that! Taken from their "Angel Of Retribution" of "Nostradamus" tours you get a taste of newer and older Judas Priest classics. The sound quality is superb and each song is an individual "live" track with no blending into the next giving one the feel of a non-stop concert. The entire cd runs about sixty minutes. halford is slowing down i just gone done listening to the cd. for the most part the album rocks but it seems halford can no longer hit the falsetto,s that he is known for. an example is on dissedent aggressor. when you listen to the sin after sin version and the live version its gone. he,s just older and maybe hes being carefull not to damage his vocal chords.b Submitted by brad (tucson az) Was This Review Helpful? Saturday night and the Prist is back. I love the Priest and they always ROCK when they play live but I was hoping for a 2 cd set with more songs like Revolution,Deal With The Devil,& even some obscure gems like Take On The World and even Rocka Rolla.I would also have preferred more pictures of the band and less of their road managers, road crew, production assistants, lighting techs, secretaries, accountants, etc. A lot of bands tend to insert pictures of people I do not even know in the cd inserts of their live albums.I just want to see band pictures. That's what I pay for aside from the music. And speaking of the music which totally kicks butt,I did have a problem with Rob Halford's vocals when it came to songs like Beyond The Realms of Death. I am dissapointed that Rob cannot hit the high notes like he used to. At least Ripper Owens could pull that song off on the Priest cd Live From London.I would also have liked to have known from what cities the songs on A Touch Of Evil were performed.I did enjoy the cd however and I am glad that Rob Halford is back.No one can command the stage like him.He will always be The Metal God.
