Singles Box album
$42.05 This 10-CD deluxe box (styled as a cigarette box package!) collects all Morrisey's singles from the years 1988 through 1991 and reproduces original art on each CD sleeve.
The idea behind the The CD Singles '88-91' is a good one: round up all the singles Morrissey released in the years immediately following the Smiths' breakup and reissue them in an affordable box set. It's especially good not only because Morrissey has a rabid fan base that will buy any collectible like this, but because he had many terrific songs buried as B-sides that never made it on an album. The problem with the set is two-fold. First, most of the best B-sides from this era did make it on a collections like Bona Drag, so there aren't too many necessary items here, even for fairly dedicated Moz followers. Second, and more importantly, this ten-disc set doesn't have all of the singles or B-sides from this era, so it doesn't serve the needs of the completists or the serious fan that has missed several singles along the way. Even with these flaws, it's still a very good piece, particularly for fans that don't have these singles in their collections, since each single is an individual work of its own; great cover art and consistently engaging B-sides strengthen the A-sides. Besides, any real Morrissey collection isn't complete without "Hairdresser on Fire," "Sister I'm a Poet," "Disappointed," "Will Never Marry," "Lucky Lisp," "He Knows I'd Love to See Him," and "Girl ...

Singles Box CD music
$32.99 LOUDER THAN BOMBS contains 24 songs, including 12 from the UK compilation of B-sides and singles THE WORLD WON'T LISTEN.
Compiled mostly from tracks on the two UK releases HATFUL OF HOLLOW and THE WORLD WON'T LISTEN, LOUDER THAN BOMBS is one of the best examples of the recorded genius of the Smiths. While the band's album releases were always anxiously awaited and well received, their most enduring gems could often be found on their singles.
The Smiths took full advantage of the then-popular 12" single format, usually including non-album tracks on their B-sides, and this 24 track CD includes the most interesting examples of these. Numerous standout moments include "Ask," "Half A Person," "Shoplifters of the World Unite," "Panic," "William It Was Really ...

Singles Box songs
$85.65 2. Making Of The Universe The Book: 84 pages of candid and intimate photography by Daniel Miller, Ben Hillier, Ferg Peterkin & Luke Smith. Taken during the recording sessions for "Sounds Of The Universe".
With SOUNDS OF THE UNIVERSE, Depeche Mode's follow-up to 2005's well-received PLAYING THE ANGEL, the renowned English synth-pop act tones down the dark Wagnerian mood of the earlier effort, resulting in a more dynamic sound that occasionally evokes the lighter, though no less dramatic, DM of the 1980s. As on ANGEL, chief songwriter Martin Gore cedes three songs to vocalist Dave Gahan (and his creative team), with the spiky "Hole to Feed" standing out among the latter's contributions. Highlights by the newly sober Gore include the fierce "Wrong" and the dreamy "Peace," songs that readily take their place along side Depeche Mode classics, and prove that the group is still in fine form nearly 30 years after its inception.
Nearly 4 years since their last studio album, the groundbreaking, chart-topping legendary electronic music group Depeche Mode returns with their highly-anticipated and most eclectic and energized album in decades. Sounds of the ...
| | Cult Love CDs (1985) Omnibus Edition; Limited Edition; Box Set
Singles Box album
$27.49 Principally recorded at Jacob's Studio, Farham, England in July & August 1985. Includes liner notes by Pat Gilbert.
The Cult's 1984 debut, DREAMTIME, proved to be an intriguing, if sometimes muddled, combination of early U2 and the Doors, topped off with Ian Astbury's ongoing lyrical fascination with Native American mythology. The immediate follow-up, LOVE, was a notable improvement. Ditching the most overt Doors references in favor of moody neo-psychedelia that sounds like a harder-rocking version of Echo & the Bunnymen, LOVE includes "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Rain." These driving singles introduced the UK band to the American college-radio market and laid the foundation for the group's mainstream commercial breakthrough later in the decade. The rest of the album is nearly up to the level of ...
