| | Elvis Presley ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits CD (2002) Remastered
Waiting For The Sun songs
$10.39 Includes liner notes Peter Guralnick and Ernst Mikael Jorgensen.
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, 30 #1 HITS presents a career-spanning serving of the King's chart-toppers.
Dating back to "Heartbreak Hotel" (which was inspired by a suicide note printed in the Miami Herald), most of these cuts have become indelibly etched into the fabric of pop culture and each has a unique story behind it. "Love Me Tender" has its origins in the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee," "It's Now Or Never" found Elvis Americanizing the Neapolitan ballad "O Sole Mio," and "Wooden Heart" likewise was converted from a German children's song.
This Memphis native's choice of artists to cover was equally intriguing ...

| | Ras Jim Jam D.J. Heaven CD (2006)
Waiting For The Sun songs
$16.45 I was inspired to write, arrange, and compose D.J. Heaven after being estranged from the field of radio production, more importantly, I missed being an on air personality.I first wrote the film script, and then the soundtrack to "D.J. Heaven".Since it was, and is, my dream to be a songwriter/film maker/D.J. I am constantly reinventing the wheel so to speak. Thanks to CDBABY's Record Store, the wheel is taking on new life, and I am back in the public eye. My background has been, in writing lyrics that dates back to the age of sixteen years old. I gained the attention of my father James Mathenia, who in turn referred me to his nephewMorris Broadnax an established writer for Motown, writing such hits as "Until You Come Back To Me" by Areatha Franklin, and "All I Do" by Stevie Wonder. Mr. Broadnax gave me an instrumental sound track composed and arranged by Stevie Wonder, after Mr. Broadnax and I set the lyrics to music, the song was titled" You Know I am Missin, Your Sweet Sweet, Kissin". It was off to Motown Studios, and that was a peak experience for me. It was a high point in my life. First I was picked up by Clarence Paul, a writer/producer for Motown, and driven to Motown Studios in his classy Lincoln Continental. Once arriving at Motown Studios, I was graced with the presence of Mr. Stevie Wonder, and later that evening, he sang the lyrics I had prepared over the instrumental sound track. Eventhough the song was never released, that experience inspired me not only to keep on writing, but it inspired me to later become a radio announcer and a great D.J. The first to play roots rock reggae over the airwaves, on a powerful public radio station WDET 101. 9 FM, in Detroit this was from Sept 1970 to 1975. I went on to ascertain a B.A. in Communications with a Theatre minor, from the University of Detroit. I took off to California to try my luck in Hollywood I met with some success e.g. being a principle character on the world famous General Hospital soap opera. I was dubbed as the person with the golden speaking voice on General Hospital. I really came to L.A. to direct films with no avail, I found out that breaking into the biz in LA. was a difficult undertaking, and that it would be better to be a big fish in a little pond, than be a little fish in a big pond; so after about two yrs. , I returned to Detroit (the little pond), where I have written/directed, and shot a half hour film, that was originally slated to run 150 min. The film is entitled D.J. Heaven, and this is the sound track that I am presenting to you my perpective audience. I may be, putting the cart before the horse, but filmmaking is a costly venture so lets see how the CD does. Maybe the CD will generate the necessary funds to complete the film. As I mentioned earlier I was the forerunner (foundation person) of Reggae music over WDET - FM in Detroit. Presently the Reggae Show is called the Micheal Julien program, you can pick this program up on the world wide web, at wdet. org. , ...
