Facing The Giants Movie Review An Excellent Movie! This was an excellent movie with an excellent story line. The bottom line is that with God we can do anything!! This movie got that point across extremely well. When you trust God for everything, you can't go wrong. Just remember to praise Him no matter what - through the good and the bad. An good idea for a movie done in a not so good way Ok the acting in this movie was subpar but i understand that the "actors" were actually kids from a team/school and not professional actors.. in that way its understandable.
pretty straight foward: If you are a christian, you will probably love the movie.
IF you are not christian, the religious message is so IN YOUR FACE(its straight up preaches, not just sharing a message)that it might turn you off to the movie instead of giving it a chance.
There were some suprisingly powerful/good parts that were moving/inspiring (and surprisingly these were the ones with an undertone and religion and not-in-your-face preaching) but then the rest of the movie was incredibly corny and predictable ( i had the whole movie planned out in my head before watching it...going on cliches of sports related and religious movies..and i was about 99% right) which just put a big damper on the movie's message and the movie in general Submitted by raveafterglow (Binghamton ny) Was This Review Helpful? Praise GOD! I don't know how this movie made it to the big screen. This movie is clearly not about the world (murder, theft, lust, greed,). This movie is about Praising GOD and being humble to our creator no-matter what our situation is. Win or Lose we praise GOD. Five stars is not enough to rate this movie I give it a 10. Insperational This movie exceeded all my expectaions. It was excellent and I look forward to purchasing it. Anyone can enjoy this movie. It was nice to be able to see a movie that the entire family could enjoy, that was not a cartoon. I did not have to worry about inappropriate language, crudeness. I wish there were more movies like this one. Submitted by Jen (Tampa, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$12.99 For his fourth directorial feature in the span of two years, Clint Eastwood tells the story of a grizzled Korean War vet's reluctant friendship with a Hmong teenage boy and his immigrant family. Set in contemporary Detroit, GRAN TORINO tackles the shifting cultural and economic landscape of not only the Motor City, but America as well. Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, an unabashed bigot who never heard a racial insult he didn't love. Bitter, haunted, and full of pride, Walt refuses to abandon the neighborhood he's lived in for decades despite its changing demographics as he clings desperately to a mindset long since out of step with the times. When his Hmong neighbor Thao tries to steal his prized muscle car as part of a gang initiation, Walt is forced to grapple with ...

$23.35 Revisiting the teenage slasher movies of the 1970s and 1980s, WRONG TURN is a tense, suspense-packed horror film starring Eliza Dushku (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER). As the cars are totalled, the group has no option but to trek through the woods and seek help. Stumbling upon a mysterious cabin, the unhappy campers soon realize they are in grave danger when they happen upon a mixture of grotesque oddities and body parts, soon followed by the return of the freakish inhabitants of the disgusting abode. $16.65 Director Craig Brewer follows up his unexpectedly well-received pimp drama, HUSTLE AND FLOW, with this stylish tale of the unlikely connections that are forged when a lost soul attempts to cure a young nymphomaniac of her wicked ways. Set deep down south in a small Tennessee town, the film is titled after and largely driven by the force of blues music. Pulsating with color and bold cinematography, the story forms a visual counterpart to a blues ballad. When divorced ex-musician Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) finds Rae (Christina Ricci) badly beaten by the side of the road, he brings her to his house and chains her to his radiator. Rae has been a wreck since her boyfriend (Justin Timberlake) went off to war, and has spent her time getting into fights and being taken advantage of by just about every man in town. Rae appears to be afflicted with a physical need for sex that no one can cure. As Lazarus watches Rae twitching with pain on his couch, he sees that the young woman's only chance at redemption is in his hands.
While the premise is outlandish, and the film opens itself up for much moral criticism, BLACK SNAKE MOAN has its merits. Deliciously colorful, the film aches ...

Facing The Giants review
$27.85 Based on the real-life events surrounding a military-style drug raid on the poor, predominantly black housing project of Arlington Springs, director Tim Disney’s AMERICAN VIOLET shines an unflinching spotlight on the shameful racial profiling practices of a corrupt district attorney in a rural Texas town. The raid, which occurs after a tip by a single informant (a former mental patient bullied by the police to name names), targets among others Dee, a single mother of four with no prior drug charges (excellently played by newcomer Nicole Beharie). When the defendant assigned to her case tries to pressure her into a guilty plea in exchange for a 10-year suspended sentence, Dee refuses, rightly insisting that she has done no wrong. But with the vast majority of the prosecuted taking plea deals, even Dee’s mother (Alfre Woodard) thinks she’s a fool. Dee’s heroic defiance soon wins acolytes in ACLU lawyer David Cohen (Tim Blake Nelson) and his assistant, Byron Hill (Malcolm Barrett). The Yankee lawyers team up with local consul Sam ...

$32.39 Director Sam Mendes (AMERICAN BEAUTY) may invoke plenty of indie-comedy tropes in this comic venture, but AWAY WE GO is a tender, sweet, and surprisingly funny addition to the genre. Verona De Tessant (Maya Rudolph, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE) is six months pregnant, but she and her boyfriend, Burt Farlander (John Krasinski, THE OFFICE), aren’t tied down to their current house in Colorado. A sense of adventure and the desire to find a place to call home propels the couple across North America, stopping in Arizona, Wisconsin, Montreal, and Miami, where they learn the how-to's (and how-not-to's) of parenting from friends and family. ...
