Emmett, a quiet loner, saves Paden from sure death in the desert, where a band of outlaws had abandoned him. They then befriend Mal, a black cowboy who was denied service at a saloon, and all three move on to rescue Emmett's hot-headed brother from being hanged. The quartet finally reach their destination, Silverado, where they must make a stand against the corrupt sheriff and the band of murderous ranchers who have dogged them their entire journey. As the result of a chance meeting, four cowboys on horseback are drawn together to defeat a corrupt frontier sheriff and his vicious posse. An enjoyable high-spirited western. Silverado:the best EVER! I am not a big fan of Keven Costner, however, I have to say this is the very best film I have ever seen him in. It actually proves, that when he tries he actually can act. It's also great to see him play a different part for a change, instead of the same old character in every other movie I've ever seen him in. I actually think he missed his forte, he should have been a comedy actor instead of a dramatic leading man. This is a great film that everey one should see! Incredible music and storyline! This movie features a great story portrayed by an excellent cast. It never gets boring, unlike many other westerns, and will grab your attention immediately. The best part of it, however, (as far as I am concerned) is the soundtrack. Bruce Broughton outdid himself and the main theme will stick with you after you watch the film. Five stars! THE BEST OF THE WEST I can see this movie over and over again. The actors are all very good and the script keeps you involved with hardly no down time. I think Kevin Klein and Brian Deneahy have the best roles in this movie. Its a classic for sure - from the opening scene to the final gunfight. What's To Not Like About It? All I can say here is this is the best Western on the planet. Kevin Kline shines in this flick. Kostner, well Kostner is Kostner. But what a cast! 133 non-boring minutes. The ending is the best. Buy this DVD. It will surely not disappoint you. I rest my case. Submitted by Johnny (I Live In A Van Down By The River) Was This Review Helpful? $10.29 RED RIVER, Howard Hawks's masterpiece, is one of the greatest Westerns ever filmed, a saga of obsession and rivalry between a man and his adoptive son amid an epic struggle for survival in the Old West. Tom Dunson (John Wayne) journeys west to Texas to build a cattle empire and adopts Matthew Garth, a young boy orphaned by an Indian raid. Years later, Matthew (Montgomery Clift) returns from the Civil War and joins Dunson on a massive cattle drive north undertaken to avoid financial ruin. Stampedes and Indian attacks build tension, but it is Dunson's ironfisted leadership that causes the most problems, ...

$7.89 After his cowhands desert him for a nearby gold rush, aging, leather-tough rancher Will Anderson (John Wayne) resorts to hiring 11 schoolboys to help him on a 400-mile cattle run. Setting off with the boys and an eloquent but equally tough black cook (Roscoe Lee Browne), Anderson must get his cattle to their destination while contending with the wilderness and a psychotic, vengeful ex-con (Bruce Dern) who is out to get him. Silverado review
$26.29 Anne Hathaway stars in this psychological thriller as Claire Summers, a driven young psychiatrist who consumes herself in work at the expense of her social life. Following a plane crash, Claire is called upon to counsel the few survivors. These men and women are understandably traumatized, showing signs of post traumatic stress syndrome, shock, and in the case of passenger Eric (Patrick Wilson), a state of euphoria. Clair leads a therapy group attended by every passenger except Eric, who will agree to see Claire only on a casual, one-on-one basis on the understanding that he is not a "patient" but a friend. Claire agrees to this reluctantly with the hope that this arrangement will help her reach Eric and get him to open up about his experience. As Claire hears contradictory accounts of the crash from each survivor, she starts to suspect foul play on the part of the airline. Meanwhile, she struggles to keep ...

$32.39 After nearly two decades of successful detours into mature thrillers (THE GIFT, A SIMPLE PLAN) and superhero blockbusters (the Spider-Man series), director Sam Raimi returns--full tilt--to his scrappy horror roots with DRAG ME TO HELL. Alison Lohman stars as Christine Brown, a soft-spoken Southern girl with a good heart, a PhD-toting boyfriend (Justin Long), and a job as a loan officer at a bank just outside of Los Angeles. When evicting a vile and negligent old woman named Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) seems to be the only way to secure an important promotion, Christine pushes her moral flexibility about as far as it can go (not very far at all) only to dearly pay the price as the recipient of a rather nasty curse. The next three days of Christine’s life amount to an unimaginable endurance test in which she is subject to physical and psychological torture while a terrifying demon draws ever closer to take her to hell, where she would burn for eternity.
Raimi manages to keep the feverish awfulness of DRAG ME's central concept palpable while layering on his distinctly disturbing and exhilaratingly kinetic macabre-meets-slapstick portraiture, and the result is an efficient celebration of the art of horror movies that’s campy, scary, and fun. Similar to HBO’s classic TALES FROM THE CRYPT series, HELL feels like a living, breathing EC comic. While it may come as a minor shock that ...
