5 stars Jeff Golub brings the power of a live show to CD!
As a fan of Jeff Golub, I always wondered why he had not yet done a "live" album. This CD brings the power of his live shows into the studio. No fadeout tracks here, just the high octane energy of Jeff's playing and a group of fantastic musicians. Don't pass up a chance to hear him play the blues with the all the fire of the best.

Smooth jazz producer, arranger, and songwriter Paul Brown made the transition to recording artist with 2004's Up Front, which, like its successor, 2005's The City, was a Top Ten hit on the Contemporary Jazz chart. Many people think of smooth jazz as something that didn't start until the 1980s, but arguably, smooth jazz started around 1966-1968 with the overtly commercial, pop-drenched albums that guitarist Wes Montgomery recorded during the last few years of his life.
