| | Poppa Step CD Poppa Step Discography of CDs
Poppa Step emerges again with his blend of funky, hip-hop, soul. Straight out of N.Y.C. “In This Together” features a driving Motown bass that will move your body straight to the dance-floor. The lyrics will bring your mind closer to reality a la Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye. “No Givin Up” is a bangin hip-hop laced track that will make you feel empowered. Both songs are mixed with perfection by Tom Soares (courtesy of Erykah Badu) and mastered by the master Herb Powers Jr. We even included the instrumental and acappella versions so the d.j.s can be creative. This is an independent c.d. without the independent sound. Even the cover is a classic! Poppa Step CD music
$9.59 Digitally remastered by Tom Coyne (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Nigerian vocalist Sade Adu has carved out a cosmpolitan niche for herself over the past decade, gathering together elements of cool jazz, samba, reggae, funk and pop all under the pastoral umbrella of her suede-and-velvet voice. A pop stylist with a musical universe all her own, Sade has endured and matured over the past decade, seemingly unaffected by changes in taste and fashion--a movement unto herself.
As her most recent single (Percy Mayfield's "Please Send Me Someone To Love" from the PHILADELPHIA soundtrack) illustrates, Sade's coy caressing voice speaks more of commitment and trust, of relationships in flux ("Nothing Can Come Between Us") than of the ...

| | Freeheat Back On The Water CD (2006) (Import)
Poppa Step songs
$14.89 The dissolution of the Jesus and Mary Chain didn't mean an end to music-making for the Reid brothers, though Jim Reid and fellow JAMC refugee Ben Lurie found themselves unable to release a full album during the existence of their subsequent band, Freeheat. Appearing at the same time as the JAMC reissues in the middle of 2006, Back on the Water is therefore simultaneously new and retrospective, a catch-all of various studio EP tracks recorded in 1997 and live songs taken from a date at Amsterdam's legendary Paradiso venue in 2003. The differences between Freeheat and its more famous forebear are, unsurprisingly, pretty minimal -- whatever differences caused the Reids' split, they don't appear to have been musical (song titles like "Dead End Kids" and "Down" further make the point). Hearing Reid's familiar yowl right from the start on "Keep on Truckin'" set against a big guitar riff/pop hook blast establishes where Freeheat goes from there, in particular suggesting the Stoned & Dethroned era. There's more country/folk-as-such songs such as "Shine on Little ...
| | 10 Ft Ganja Plant Bush Rock CD (2009)
Poppa Step album
$10.59 “Bush Rock” shows the Plant growing to new heights, while keeping their feet firmly rooted in a warm 70’s roots vibe. Standout tracks “Too Much Gun a Bust” & “Got To Be a Soldier” include powerful heart wrenching vocals reminiscent of the greats like Jacob Miller & Joe Higgs. Bush Rock is a well rounded reggae/dub excursion and features both heavy dub tracks and silky sweet songs like the Melodica driven “Machete Strike”.“Highly recommended to all John Brown’s Body fans & anyone else with an insatiable hunger for classic reggae.” - All Music Guide“Like ...
