| king George colors outside the lines a little bit
Don't get me wrong this isn't Garth being Chris Gaines for example. Strait still plays it strait here. The same formula that makes George great is still there. However there are a few surprises here that make this album different.First of all he and his son co-wright 3 songs here which is different than usual.Secondly George sings spanish in one song. Talk about different but its great.The album starts out with Twang a great uptempo honkytonker of a song that is a highlight along with Living For The Night which is a great moody ballad.There's one song in particuler that sounds like a great Johnny Cash style song which lyrically is super.Pay close attention to the ending of the song,which is called Arkansas Dave by the way, it has a twist to it.Another highlight is Hot Grease and Zydaco which has a rockin cajun feel to it.The album closes with El Rey that may shock a few. This albums is great one of his better albums.

If you like/love george strait-- this CD is great. Really like the piano/jazz he put into this one.

| I'm a real fan but I don't love it.
I bothers me that I don't love this cd, I love George Strait and have ever since I can remember, Twang didn't do it for me. I did the math and I like 38% of this album. This is a problem when it comes to George, because he is one of the best in my opinion. I don't think I have disliked a Cd by him before, but this one is very close to being there for me. I liked 5 songs, and disliked the rest.
