Masters Of The Universe Movie Review EXCELLENT A Dolph Lundgren fan. A great movie with excellent special effects. Would also recommend THE PUNISHER with Dolph Lundgren. Submitted by a reviewer (Bellevue, NE,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Cheesy but Very Entertaining! First off unlike alot of people who are over critical, Yes this movie is incredibly cheesy, but it does have it's good points. Frank Langella was probably the best Skeletor ever! His overall performace was one of his best. Though it never lived up to the franchise, this is quite the fun movie to watch, if you can get past the cheesiness of it. And for such as some say "a crappy movie", the props are certainly selling for good money, and are quite rare. I personally liked this movie. I never expected a remake of the cartoon(we all know that would have been much worse than this film)
I give it 4 stars for just fun entertainment. Submitted by Jeremy (Ocala, Florida) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Remember this?? Remember this movie. I watched this as a kid and then totally forgot about it, then when looking through this store i found it and thought i would buy it as a laugh. This brought back so many memories and it was funny because i remembered nearly every scene. buy it for a laugh and watch it for the memories(and the laughs) Submitted by gpride (Australia) Was This Review Helpful? An unseen film that deserved more attention. There is no doubt that Masters Of The Universe has some flaws and mistakes. However the performances and clever work with the limited budget make the film enjoyable on a level that I wouldn't imagined. By the end of the film it's not too hard to realize that the film could of used a bigger budget and a better script but none of that matttered after experiencing Frank Langella as Skeletor. This was the first time I was rooting for the bad guy in some way. Not rooting for him to triumph but wanting him to stay on screen for just another scene. And when Skeletor takes that last plunge you sense that the movie better end quick because Frank Langella isn't on screen to save the day anymore, and the film does. I would look forward to seeing a remake by a Peter Jackson or a director that understands special effects. As long as Frank Langella would be back, then I will as well. great movie masters of the universe is one of the best movies of the late 80's. its star wars with better costumes and makeup plus skelator (frank langela) has some great lines if u pay attention. for example: sourceress: he-man is still alive, i can feel it. skeletor: really, how sencitive you are...can you feel..this?? (then he sucks the life out of her through his hand) frank langela's skeletor is my favorite movie character of all time...he's funny and evil at the same time. you allmost root for him to beat the good guys-who are the classic strong man(he-man) right hand man(man at arms) princess leah-like heroine (teala) smart guy (gwildor-RIP billy barty) plus james tolkan's (mr strickland from back to the future)usual character is here. also friends' courney cox and some guy play the "help us help you" characters. All in all a great movie with plenty of action and a lot of great quotes. A MUST SEE FOR FANS OF THE CARTOON, ANYONE WHO LIKES STAR WARS, OR IF YOUR JUST LOOKING FOR AN ALL AROUND GREAT MOVIE. i allready bought the dvd and i can't wait until it comes in the mail. Masters Of The Universe film
$7.99 Despite their crucial involvement in the development of thrash metal, by 1987 San Francisco's Exodus were playing a desperate game of catch-up. Upstarts Metallica had first stolen their thunder, then their guitarist; and after a yearlong delay that rendered their seminal debut, Bonded by Blood, rather archaic, the group experienced a tumultuous lineup change with the departure of founding vocalist Paul Baloff and the arrival of ex-Testament singer Steve Souza. By and large, the throat-shredding vocal styles of both frontmen were pretty much interchangeable, but the difference in songwriting quality between the aforementioned Bonded by Blood and its dismal successor, Pleasures of the Flesh, was quite astounding. Truth is, except for the rather memorable title track, the record simply fails to deliver the goods, seeming almost like an evolutionary step backward. Opener "Deranged" started an irritating tradition of inane spoken word intros, and most of the album's tracks amount to little ...

Masters Of The Universe review
$7.99 After years struggling for recognition while watching their peers achieve fame and fortune, Bay Area mainstays Exodus had every reason to be dejected when they re-grouped in 1989 to record their third album Fabulous Disaster. Still, they went on to create their most diverse and carefully conceived effort yet, while remaining faithful to their no-frills thrash ethic. But while the album represented the realization of their vision, as well as their commercial peak, it still failed to gain them their well-deserved place alongside such thrash metal giants as Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer. After a random spoken word intro, opener "The Last Act of Defiance" quickly sets the frenzied pace, taken a step further by the title ...

Masters Of The Universe video
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original LP, Stills on the other), all three principals get off lots of good ...
