A little girl, who has been raised not to believe in fantasy, fairy tales, and Santa Claus, meets a department-store Santa who claims he's the real Kris Kringle. Her mother insists that it can't be true--that Kris is only a nice old man who isn't all too sane.
But soon things start happening that may make both of them change their minds... and have faith in magic once again. An updated version of the 1947 classic about a department-store Kris Kringle who brings joy to Christmas, by making Susan, a cynical little girl and her mother believe in Santa Claus. A warm and cozy film with just the right amount of nineties edge. MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET stars Mara Wilson (the unbelievably adorable daughter of MRS. DOUBTFIRE) as Susan. Shot in Dolby Spectral Recording.
Released theatrically in the USA November 18, 1994.
To fully capture the festive atmosphere of Thanksgiving Day in New York, the filmmakers closed down nine blocks of Central Park West for five days in order to stage the Cole's Department Store holiday parade that opens the movie, the largest closure ever of this area of Manhattan for a movie shoot.

Miracle On 34th Street Video Miracle On 34th Street Movie Review GREAT THE BEST SHOW AT CHRISTMAS TIME. Submitted by aw125450 (U.S.A) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Not bad but certainly NOT the original My parents would have us watch the 1947 version each Christmas, now I understand why. The original is a true classic and more than endures with time. The remake is thin and sappy - however an honest effort.
Purchase the 1947 original - it is totally charming...and we really do not need the colour. Oh, and by the way; Natalie Wood is priceless in her young roll. Submitted by faust8577 (Lorraine, Que. Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Miracle #2 We bought this 2000 remake of Micacle on 34th Street because we wanted to compare it to the orginal from 1947, (both a great movies) and it was interesting to see how the story line was very much the same, yet details are different to fit into todays' lifestyle. Get them both! Submitted by Ron (Minnesota) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Better than the orginal. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies. It leaves you with that feeling to believe in the higher power & the whole theory to a childs Christmas.
All of the characters were wonderful & Attenborough as Santa was suberb! Wilson played a good role as the "know too much" little girl who knew the truth of Santa because of her mother, Perkins.
There were so many cute features in this movie. It is a good one for the whole family & I found it better than the orginal! Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.
opinion I hated this remake of the movie. The original is terrible and this one is worse!!!!!!!!!! buy a chrismas story instead. Submitted by Luis Borges (Wallingford, CT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.

$29.79 Screenwriter Shane Black of LETHAL WEAPON fame makes his directorial debut with this film noir gem. Robert Downey, Jr., stars as Harry Lockhart, a petty thief in New York City who quite literally stumbles into acting and soon finds himself in Los Angeles to test for a film role as a private detective. To help Harry prepare, his new agent arranges for him to shadow a gay private investigator, Perry van Shrike--also known as "Gay Perry" (Val Kilmer). But when Perry takes Harry along on a simple job for a mystery client, the two witness the disposal of a dead body, and the game suddenly becomes serious. Miracle On 34th Street movie DVD
$24.95 Accomplished indie actor Mark Webber (STORYTELLING, THE HOTTEST STATE) makes an ambitious debut behind the camera with EXPLICIT ILLS. Set in the same Philadelphia streets where he himself was raised, Webber’s script introduces a wide range of characters and follows them over the course of one eventful summer: Michelle (Frankie Shaw) and Jacob (Lou Taylor Pucci) are aspiring artists who fall victim to the temptations of drug abuse; Jill (Naomie Harris) and Kaleef (Tariq Trotter) are the spiritually healthy but financially tenuous parents of Heslin (Ross K. Kim-McManus); the asthmatic Babo (Francisco Burgos) lives under the watchful eye of his mother (Rosario Dawson); young teenager Demetri (Martin Cepeda) must tone down his macho act to score the girl of his dreams; and Rocco (Paul Dano) is an aspiring actor who’s struggling to make it through each day.
Webber uses a fresh visual palette for each of his narrative threads: a synthetic, videogame surreality fuels the story of the drug-addled young lovers; a well-tempered precision frames the home life of Jill and Kaleef; and the innocent tale of Babo is photographed with a nostalgic, aged hue. Webber is careful not to force overlaps between his characters, which makes his film’s conclusion all the more powerful. As the characters come together to march in the name of affordable universal health care, EXPLICIT ILLS reveals its ultimate agenda without ...

$25.15 It is the late 1950s, but it might as well be the late 1850s in a small French town where everyone behaves as they should (supposedly), and attends church regularly. When a strong North wind blows through town, it brings the vivacious and mysterious Vianne (Juliette Binoche) and her young daughter Anouk (Victoire Thivisol). Vianne is soon the talk of the town: an unwed mother who declines to go to church and opens up a chocolate shop in the midst of Lent. Her good-natured, honorable personality and psychic ability (she can predict what kind of sweets best suit each person, and magically cures each of them of their particular maladies) make her as irresistible as her delectable treats. However, Vianne and her daughter are resented by the conservative mayor, the Comte de Reynaud ...

$22.69 World War II Morocco springs to life in Michael Curtiz's (THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, YANKEE DOODLE DANDY) classic love story. Colorful characters abound in Casablanca, a waiting room for Europeans trying to escape Hitler's war-torn Europe. Humphrey Bogart plays Richard "Rick" Blaine, a cynical but good-hearted American whose café is the gathering place for everyone from the French Police to the black market to the Nazis. When his long-lost love, Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman), surfaces in Casablanca with her Resistance leader husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid), Rick is pulled into both a love triangle and a web of political intrigue. Ilsa and Victor need to escape from Casablanca, and Rick may be the only one who can help them. The question is, will he?
