My Favorite Jazz Album of All Time
Porgy and Bess buy CD music Dramatic, expansive and melodic: a work that blends the best of cool jazz and bop without straying too far into the territory of frenzied solos and modal scales. Along with Kind of Blue and Time Out by the Dave Brubeck Quartet, among the greatest jazz albums of all time. Miles' melody lines, tone and phrasing, together with Gil Evans' arrangements, are what jazz is all about.
