Given the key to return home by an alchemist, he bungles the incantation and, instead, releases the forces of darkness.
Now Ash has one job to do before transporting to the future: defeat the army of the evil dead... if they don't defeat him first. Unassuming store clerk Ash (Bruce Campbell) is time-warped into England's Dark Ages, where he must find the Necronomicon, a compendium of the black arts, before he can return home. Fortunately, he has time to romance a beautiful princess and battle an army of skeletons. This is the inspired sequel to EVIL DEAD and EVIL DEAD 2. Army Of Darkness Quotes/Excerpts: "Give me some sugar, baby." -- Ash (BRUCE CAMPBELL) to his beloved (EMBETH DAVIDTZ). Army Of Darkness Reviews: "...A crisp, punchy look and an energetic style..."
-- Janet Maslin, New York Times "...Nifty special effects and funny verbal exchanges..."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today "...Campbell is a walking human cartoon, and it's fun to watch him drop insults in late-20th-century slang..."
-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly "...[An] enjoyably silly sequel..."
-- George Kiritopoulos, Total Film 3 stars out of 5 -- "This medieval-set EVIL DEAD threequel is as good-natured a horror as you'll come across..."-- Nick De Semlyen, Empire "Sam Raimi's sequel (of sorts) to the ditzy, daffy EVIL DEAD II is still a hoot 16 years later." -- Grade: B--- Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly Army Of Darkness | List Price | $26.98 (You save $5.89) | | Studio | Universal Studios Home Video | | Orig Year | 1992 | | All Time Sales Rank | 50174 | | CD Universe Part number | 7980433 | | Catalog number | 61109066 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Sep 15, 2009 | | Rating | R (MPAA) | | Also Known As | Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness | | Running Time | 81 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Special Edition | | Movie Details | Color; Digitally Mastered; Widescreen; Special Edition; Screwhead Edition; $5 Halloween Candy Cash Offer |

Army Of Darkness review
$9.85 IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS is John Carpenter's foray into the world of H.P. Lovecraft and surreal horror. An insurance investigator (Sam Neill) is sent to find a missing author, Sutter Cane (Jurgen Prochnow). As he comes closer to finding the author, things start to change around him, and soon nothing is what it seems. Madness seems to be the normal state of things, while reason and sanity have no place in this new world created by the mind of Sutter Cane. Carpenter plays with changing perspective, making the audience aware thay they too are part of the story, and maybe, just maybe, this is not just make believe. The story is very ambitious in its attempt to put a whammy on the viewer's imagination, but the direction is steady and thoughtful enough to pull it off. Sam Neill is superb in the lead role of the only sane man left on Earth, incredulous to the destruction of reality as he knows it. It is his controlled performance that makes the bizarre events in the film threatening and scary. Jurgen Prochnow is deeply creepy as author and madman Sutter Cane, who's imagination is so vivid it is ...

Army Of Darkness film
$22.69 Veteran slashers Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees join forces in this combination sequel to the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and FRIDAY THE 13TH series. The film begins with a quick recap of both Freddy and Jason's "lives," underscoring their respective motivations to kill and their distinct weaknesses. Freddy (Robert Englund) explains that the present children of Elm St. (including Monica Keena, Jason Ritter, Katherine Isabelle, and Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child) have no memory of him, and if they don't know he exists, he can't enter their dreams to kill them. Ingeniously, he reaches out to Jason (Ken Kirzinger), the brutish death machine from Camp Crystal Lake, to go on an Elm Street killing spree, hoping a lot of gory murder will jog the town's memory.
Jason is up to the task, quickly dispensing with teenager after teenager in suburban homes, cornfields, medical labs and, of course, the forest. Freddy grows jealous over Jason's body count, and so must intervene, setting off a battle royale between the two highly adored slasher heroes across dreamworlds and realities. In another post-modern twist, a character seemingly modeled after Jay from ...

Army Of Darkness review
$24.55 Martin Scorsese, one of America's most influential filmmakers, returns to the world of mobsters, greed, and excess that he explored so compellingly in 1990's GOODFELLAS. Set in the 1970s and reveling in the minute details of how Las Vegas casinos operate, the film chronicles the rise and fall of casino manager Ace Rothstein (Robert De Niro). As the king of his domain, Ace efficiently runs the business and regularly sends lots of cold cash to his bosses. Helping him keep the casino's employees and customers honest is his best friend, Nicky (Joe Pesci), a violent sociopath. Although Ace aims to run a relatively respectable casino, the volatile Nicky wants to take over the entire gambling mecca, and when Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone), a seasoned Vegas hustler, enters the picture, Ace and Nicky's friendship is complicated even further. As drugs and alcohol become a bigger part of Ginger's life, all three are eventually brought down by their own greed and blind ambition. CASINO shares many similarities with GOODFELLAS, beginning with a script that was ...

Army Of Darkness film
$21.09 Pop culture sponges Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost team up again for HOT FUZZ, their follow-up to the surprise hit movie SHAUN OF THE DEAD. HOT FUZZ follows a near-identical formula to its predecessor, simply replacing the various homages to horror movies by heaping on the adulation for action flicks such as POINT BREAK and BAD BOYS II (both of which are referenced throughout). The plot finds outstanding London-based police officer Nicholas Angel (Pegg) transplanted to a rural English village. On arrival, Angel teams up with the oaf-like PC Danny Butterman (Frost) and together they investigate a series of mysterious murders, all of which are classed as "accidents" by the increasingly strange townsfolk.
Director Wright combines gory set-pieces with traditional action-movie staples: mustachioed detectives in sunglasses, corny one-liners, rapid machine-gun fire, and blood-spattered fight scenes all feature heavily. References to other movies come thick and fast throughout, and HOT FUZZ will have film fans' memories working overtime as they try to catch all the allusions to Pegg/Wright/Frost's favorite films. A veritable Who's Who of British comedy provides support, with Martin Freeman (THE OFFICE), Bill Bailey (BLACK BOOKS), Steve Coogan ...
