Directed by Sidney Lumet, MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS is the definitive adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic mystery, which finds fastidious detective Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) investigating the murder of an unsavory millionaire among the passengers of a luxury train. This stylish thriller crackles with witty dialogue, moody period-piece atmosphere, and superb performances from an all-star ensemble cast that includes Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam, Jacqueline Bisset, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave, and Ingrid Bergman (who won an Academy Award for her role). Filmed on location in Turkey and France. Murder On The Orient Express Quotes/Excerpts: "Only by interrogating the other passengers could I hope to see the light, but when I began to question them, the light, as Macbeth would have said, thickened."--Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) Murder On The Orient Express Reviews: "...This feisty slice of old-fashioned escapism is far better than the slew of Identikit thrillers it inspired..."-- Neil Smith, Total Film Murder On The Orient Express | List Price | $5.95 (You save $0.26) | | Studio | Paramount Home Entertainment | | Orig Year | 1974 | | All Time Sales Rank | 33950 | | CD Universe Part number | 7980496 | | Catalog number | 7906885 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Sep 15, 2009 | | Rating | PG (MPAA) | | Also Known As | Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express | | Additional Info | Widescreen | | Movie Details | Widescreen |

stellar ensemble performances Finally...the transfer to DVD.( and how good it looks!!) Albert Finney is superb as Poirot, and is well supported by a cast of 'all-stars'. Nice extras, too, with some background on Dame Agatha ( courtesy of her grandson ) With a memorable soundtrack, this is what all movies should aspire to.

"Strangers on a Train", or "Too Many Clues" Agatha Christie's intrepid detective, Hercule Poirot, unravels the oblique connections between an apparent group of strangers to solve a gruesome murder aboard the fabled train. The story has shades of the famous Lindbergh kidnapping, with unexpected twists and a stellar ensemble cast of big stars in small parts. A bit short on suspense, but a lot of fun. Murder On The Orient Express review
$10.49 A HARD DAY'S NIGHT presents a fictionalized day in the life of the Beatles as they give a performance on a live television show. Filmed just a month after their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964, this film--the Beatles' first--introduces us to the unique personalities of each member of the band. The film opens with the Fab Four boarding a train mobbed with adoring young fans (mostly women) as they attempt to travel to the television studio in London. The antics of the band during rehearsals and makeup application provide a large part of the comic material in this feature, though there are other moments of pure hilarity. The unscripted vignette featuring a hangover-suffering Ringo is especially funny, particularly when he is arrested and risks having to miss the broadcast. None of this goes unnoticed by the director of the show, played by Victor Spinetti, who went on to become a recurring cast member in Beatles movies. As the clock ticks away dramatically, our heroes manage to free Ringo from jail and sneak onto the stage in the nick of time, delighted in the knowledge that they have nearly driven the director mad in the process. Arguably the first music video ever made, this faux documentary and its shooting style have been a tremendous influence on nearly every rock and roll feature since.

Murder On The Orient Express review
$46.89 When this popular nighttime soap debuted in 2003, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) were sworn enemies on and off the basketball court. The reason for this tension eventually revealed itself: the boys were half-brothers. This bitter secret proved to be just one of many that would shape the drama of Tree Hill, the town where Lucas, Nathan, their families, and their peers all reside. Parental conflict and steamy romantic triangles create much of the show's tension, with the character of Dan Scott (Nathan and Lucas's father) developing into one of television's most sinister villains. This collection presents the show's third season, which follows the teens' traumatic senior year.
