Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles; Director's Comments Here's a gooey, hilarious, creepy horror film for the whole mutant cannibal family. Michael Rooker (HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER) stars as Grant, a big bald guy from a small southern town who gets possessed by a meat-hungry parasite worm creature from space. Even under the alien influence he still loves his wife, Starla (Elizabeth Banks), but she's alarmed at his weird new habits, such as consuming all the local wildlife. The sheriff in town (Nathan Fillion) investigates. He still carries a torch for Starla from when they were kids, but once the squirming, slithering, and cannibalism begin in earnest, it becomes clear that this is no time for romance.
SLITHER's combination of interesting characters, deadpan humor, gore aplenty, and genuine scares earns it a place alongside cult classics like RE-ANIMATOR and the various LIVING DEAD and EVIL DEAD films. Director/writer James Gunn wrote 2004's DAWN OF THE DEAD before this, and it's abundantly clear where his loyalties lie: SLITHER aims its acid-dripping, brain-sucking tongue right into the hearts of horror fans. Heads explode, monsters squiggle into gaping mouths, tentacles wrap around Banks's negligee-clad body, and the sheriff takes it all in his stride. There's even a twisted intergalactic love story somewhere in the chaos, as well as hordes of in-jokes for the fans. Theatrical Release: March 31, 2006 Slither Reviews: "Gunn takes a plot...and has his wicked, gory way with it. You'll love getting slimed."-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "Gunn lovingly hacks up the whole horror-comedy genre with the giddily disgusting tale..." -- Grade: B+
-- Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly "[W]hat makes it work is how nimbly it slaloms from yucks to yuks, slip-sliding from horror to comedy and back again on its gore-slicked foundation."
-- Manohla Dargis, New York Times "SLITHER is a throwback to the playful, squishy, slightly queasy-making horror films of the 1980s..."-- Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times "For those who enjoy entertaining gross-out horror flicks, SLITHER satisfies. The squeamish should probably keep their distance."-- Claudia Puig, USA Today "[Gunn has] raised his game with his debut as a director of features....The horror and gross-out punch lines are leavened by a dry humour."
-- Jonathan Barnes, Sight and Sound 3 stars out of 5 -- "[Gunn is] clearly having a riot, slathering SLITHER's monsters with 300 gallons of methylcellulose slime....Great fun..."
-- Jamie Graham, Total Film 3 stars out of 5 -- "[Gunn] happily packs this horror parody with a virtual jukebox of familiar movie references."
-- Kevin Courrier, Box Office Slither Movie Review The real spirit of horror Very good movie !!!

Slither THIS MOVIE SUCKED REALLY BAD! I'll give you one in that there were some funny parts but it still wasn't able to save this suckfest. Submitted by Paul (Salem, NH, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Soooo Funny The writing was wonderful...so many funny quips; I'm sure I missed some. I actually laughed out loud in the theater and that's not like me at all. Not like a lot of humorous movies where you know what the next line will be...it comes at you 'off the wall' and grabs the funny bone. Hurry with the DVD, I can' wait to replay...replay...replay and LOL again. Submitted by Nancy (Summerville, SC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$14.85 Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam epic, loosely based on the novel HEART OF DARKNESS by Joseph Conrad, tells the story of Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), a special agent sent into Cambodia to assassinate an errant American colonel (Marlon Brando). Willard is assigned to a navy patrol boat operated by Chief (Albert Hall) and three hapless soldiers (Frederic Forrest, Sam Bottoms, and Larry Fishburne). They are escorted on part of their journey by an air cavalry unit led by Lt. Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall), a gung-ho commander with a love of Wagner, surfing, and napalm. After witnessing a surreal USO show featuring Playboy playmates, and an anarchic battle with the Viet Cong at a bridge, Willard reaches Colonel Kurtz's compound. A crazed photojournalist and Kurtz groupie (Dennis Hopper) welcomes the crew, and Willard begins to question his orders to "terminate the colonel's command." The grueling production and Coppola's insistence on authenticity led to vast budget overruns and physical and emotional breakdowns. Considered to be one of the best war movies of all time, APOCALYPSE NOW features skilled performances and beautifully chaotic visuals that make it a powerful, unforgettable work.
This collection presents both the 1979 original and the 2001 restored and updated version, with 49 minutes of never-before-seen footage, a Technicolor enhancement, and a six-channel soundtrack.

$43.05 Unofficially picking up where THE BIG CHILL left off, the ABC series THIRTYSOMETHING chronicles a circle of baby boomers as they cope with life in the 1980s. The "me" decade brings fresh challenges to the young professionals: Hope (Mel Harris) learns to balance her feminist ideals with her role as a stay-at-home mother, while her husband, Michael (Ken Olin), attempts to make it in the advertising business. His partner, Elliot (Timothy Busfield), struggles in the confines of his own marriage to Nancy (Patricia Wettig), a restless homemaker who eventually stares down ovarian cancer. Together with artist friend Melissa (Melanie Mayron), free spirit Ellyn (Polly Draper), and English prof Gary Shepherd (Peter Horton), the couples pull together and fall apart under a variety of pressures and tragedies.
