Great Product~Great Prices! When looking for a unique gift, I usually resort to an "out-of-date" dvd that was & yet always will be a great movie to have on hand. This story is a collector's item in itself & Robert DeNiro does this monster justice! A beautiful performance to inspire the heart & mind...& Kenneth Branaugh always adds a touch of class to anything he acts in. I was very pleased to find this item at the price I did & add it to my collection. THX! By jypsyrose (Tucson, AZ USA)
Gothic, Hell of A Movie/Story This film truly captured the essence of Mary Shelly's time. Your room became filled with the stench of the old world and a period filled with great joy and great trajedy. It truly teaches us not to judge and book or anyone without taking the time to look inside. By tize (Bronx, New York) This review is for a different format.
Mary Shelley would be proud This film is very close to the original idea that Mary Shelley was trying to convey in her classic novel. The make-up effects are not quite up to par though. This movie is more about the story as opposed to the scare factor. Recommended. By woodie9375 (White Stone, VA, USA) This review is for a different format.
Excellent Acting and Cinematography This is a beautifully done film. However, the gore was a little over the top for me (although, to be fair, it is done faithfully to the original story). Branagh, as usual, is excellent. By a reviewer (Mustang, OK, USA) This review is for a different format.
| The best acting in a long time! The pages of the classic story come alive with a ferocious assault on all the senses. The passion; the sympathy; the incredible emotion passed through by only facial expressions. Kenneth Branagh did a masterful job at keeping this movie in the tone of a period movie, and Robert DeNiro delivers what I feel to be the best performance of his career.
