Lift off with Levitation.
What a fantastic album! All this from a band that had officially ceased to exist 12 months prior to the recording of this LP! Tim Blake, the ex-Gong synth wizard, and drumming legend Ginger Baker had joined the band, and together with band founder Dave Brock, guitarist Huw Lloyd-Langdon and bassist Harvey Bainbridge pushed the mighty Hawkwind out of the doledrums and onto the 80's.

Levitating to the 80's.
"Levitation" marked an incredible return-to-form for a band that 12 months previously had written themselves off completely. Following on from "Live 79", the first release on the Bronze label, "Levitation" features excellent guitaring from the hugely underrated Huw Lloyd Langdon, inspirational synth-work from ex-Gong keyboard maestro Tim Blake and powerful drumming from ex-Cream percussionist Ginger Baker, skillfully woven together by singer/guitarist/frontman Dave Brock.

My all-time favorite psychedelic album.
Not only is this my favorite space rock/psychedelic album, it's also my second favorite album of all-time spanning all genres.
