| | Andy Williams Christmas Album CD (1963) Remastered
Inutil Insistir music CDs
$6.09 Popular songs are often associated with the vocalists that made them famous but few artists actually have the distinction of having a "theme" song along the lines of Bob Hope with "Thanks for the Memories." Even fewer can claim to have two theme songs attached to them and Andy Williams is one of those fortunate stars. After "Moon River" became forever linked to Williams, he recorded a holiday song for his first Christmas album that gave him a yuletide hit and theme song. "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" was the right song at the right time for Williams when he began to perform it on his highly successful NBC Christmas specials that featured the whole Williams clan. Both the song and the television specials were so memorable, it wasn't ...

| | Megadeth Endgame CD (2009)
Inutil Insistir CD music
$15.65 The release of 2009's ENDGAME brings with it a startling realization: if first-generation thrash metal fans had been polled about which of the genre's "Big Four" -- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth -- would prove to be the most resilient and consistently prolific over the next quarter century, the only sure-fire consensus would probably have ...
| | T'Pau Greatest Hits CD (1999)
Inutil Insistir music CDs
$11.65 This collection of 17 songs recorded by U.K. pop band T'Pau includes "Heart & Soul" and "Valentine."
Crafting songs that virtually scream '80s, T'Pau was dramatic, over-produced, and filled with irresistible hooks that made them all the more frustrating. Unlike groups like Level 42 or Spandau Ballet, they actually had more catchy songs outside of their big hit, despite how it might have seemed to the rest of the world. The sound displayed here is so mired in the decade it comes from that it might turn off many, but T'Pau was the natural extension of ABBA's perfect pop once faced with the changes new wave and synth pop brought to the music industry. This album may be filled with overblown fluff, but it is some of the best overblown fluff from a decade full of it. There are countless hidden gems to be found here, and fans of '80s pop ...

| | Madder Mortem Deadlands CD (2003)
Inutil Insistir songs
$10.65 To say that the sounds emanating from Madder Mortem's head-spinning second album Deadlands are wholly unexpected would be putting it mildly. Released amidst the glut of post-death metal albums featuring beautifully dreamy female voices set to deliberate, low-end guitar riffs and ethereal synths, the Norwegian group's harsh, angular, clearly black metal-derived assault on the senses is nothing less than jarring. Although she is also occasionally given to whisper and soar like other metal sirens such as Anneke Van Giersbergen or Cristina Scabbia (see the unusually tender and melodic title track), Madder Mortem's Agnette Kirkevaag is an all-out belter by nature, ejecting full-throated, warbling, Linda Perry-like screams over tracks like "Faceless" and "Jigsaw (The Pattern and the Puzzle)." These, for their part can hardly be defined by as simplistic a term as 'progressive' or 'gothic,' both of which are regularly bandied about to any metal band with a chick singer, but which fall well short of describing Madder Mortem's wide sonic spectrum. Leave ...
