While serving time, they slowly form friendships that could last a lifetime...or might not last until Monday morning. When five high school students from different social groups are forced to spend a Saturday together in detention, they find themselves interacting with and understanding each other for the first time. A jock (Emilio Estevez), a criminal (Judd Nelson), a princess (Molly Ringwald), a basket case (Ally Sheedy), and a brain (Anthony Michael Hall) talk about everything from parental tension to sex to peer pressure to hurtful stereotypes while serving time. Ultimately, the five find that they may have more in common than they ever imagined and learn more about themselves as well as each other. The only question is, Will they remember what they've learned after they leave detention? Director and writer John Hughes, along with the stellar Brat Pack, cast makes this a memorable, moving film filled with believable dialogue, intelligent humor, and a sufficient dose of high school hijinx. Its timeless appeal makes this film a teen classic along with Hughes's other teen films from the 1980s: SIXTEEN CANDLES and FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF. Breakfast Club Movie Review  One of the great high school classics
One of the all time classics of teens and school detention. Entertaining for both teens and/or their parents or anyone who likes to look back on the good old days of high school.

 One of the best 80's movies
Gripping from beginning to end, great cast and plot. Magic soundtrack too. This is definitely one movie that is a must see

Where is my DVD?
I have ordered the DVD "The breakfast club" one month ago and I haven't get it yet!! I'm really angry about that, because it should have been a christmas present for my boyfriend! The other point is, that I have to pay about 11 $ for the priority sending which says that I actually get it in 4 days after ordering!
I also already have paid it!!
Please send me an answer what happens with my DVD!

Love this classic 80's flick! I remember writing a paper about this movie for one of my psychology classes. All the different personalities cling together in this movie. It is amazing what one can learn from someone if you just take the time. Full of laughs & good entertainment.

Based on actual diary accounts of several teenagers following the L.A. riots, FREEDOM WRITERS is the story of an idealistic teacher's attempts to make a difference in the lives of her at-risk students.
