$7.18 Big Eddie was born in Huntingdon, PA. c o m i n g i n t o t h i s world about 3 in the morning on Nov. 29, 1957. He lived in a small village of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA and started private piano lessons at the age of 5 after his Mom saw that he would tap on the correct keys an octave higher when she would play Heart and Soul. He then picked up a trumpet that was his grandfather’s and learned that in grade school and went into the marching and concert band in his high school years. As a Senior, Big Eddie was the best trumpeter and was Solo & 1st Chair Trumpeter for the concert band. He also played for the school’s stage band. He played on the concert piano along with the band during the concert season at the concert’s 500 attendance in 1975.Big Eddie then graduated high school and then received a guitar from his mom and dad. He later went to Penn State for some College courses with Music and the Arts. Then he taught himself the guitar and not ever having a guitar lesson in his life, went onto teaching private guitar and piano lessons in Bellefonte, PA at Strings N’ Things; a local music store there. He taught until 1991 and was out of the music trend for awhile to re-adjust his life. Big Eddie then moved to Reading, PA in Oct. of 1995. In 1999 Big Eddie created his first CD album, “Come-back ’99’ on a synthesizer for a movie company in Lancaster, PA , but when that did not go anywhere, he pushed his album for another Indie movie he knew about, called “Out Of Control.” They used one of his songs from this album for the ending credits of the movie! Big Eddie has also taken up flying since 1998 after he was inspired by the Executive Producer of the above mentioned movie and has been flying ever since. He says it takes him away from everything down here for awhile and he feels that’s an escape that does him good now and then. He has given that up after Oct. 2007 so to spend more time and commitment to his music.Ed writes and sings his own original pop/rock/country material and plays acoustic guitar, which has became his favorite instrument since 2003. He is also teaching himself the violin… a violin that was his grandfather’s and was made in 1888! Ed received that as an inheritance and he had it redone twice already, once in 1985 and another time in 2008. Ed mentioned that it plays as good as a new one.Big Eddie has 7 CD Albums recorded and copyrighted: COME-BACK ‘99’, GUITAR CREATIONS, U.S. TROOPS FREEDOM CD, RE-LIVE IT, MUSICAL MEMORIES, FLOOD VICTIMS RELIEF ALBUM and DANCE UR HEART’S DESIRE. He is now working on a Greatest Hits Album for Nov. 2009 so to have it ready for his CD release party that’s being planned for Nov. 9, 2009. This future album will contain the best songs out of the 7 CD’s mentioned above along with his new songs he is creating at this time.Ed has also written songs for piano solos since September 2006 up to the present date for the International Annual Composition Test sponsored by the American College of Musicians and won 5 awards in the past 3 years. He also entered one of these locally and won 1st Place in his division from the Berks County Arts Council. They did a TV interview on him on Jan. 5, 2009 about the above mentioned on BC-TV, a ...
