Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re High school romance is difficult enough to navigate when both people are human. But for 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart, INTO THE WILD) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE), Edward's life as a vampire complicates things even more. At first, when Bella moves from sunny Phoenix to the rainiest corner of Washington State, she isn't sure where she fits in at her new high school. Then she meets Edward, an ethereal beauty of a boy whose unnatural speed and strength lead Bella to the conclusion that her new crush is one of the undead. Suddenly, Bella's boring life is transformed; she's surrounded by love and danger in equal parts, thanks to the hunger of Edward and others of his kind.
TWILIGHT is based on the first book in the addictive series by author Stephenie Meyer. Director Catherine Hardwicke (THIRTEEN) certainly knows her audience, which is primarily the teenage girls who worship the book and its characters. There are plenty of swoonworthy shots of Pattinson's perfectly pale Edward, and his romance with Stewart's nicely acted Bella will cause many a sigh among the devoted fans. While TWILIGHT is primarily a love story in the ROMEO AND JULIET mold, there's also plenty of action and horror to be found. Blood flows (this is a vampire movie, after all), but the small amount of gore shouldn't be too much for the squeamish viewers--and it might even draw a boy or two to the screen. The film's record-breaking box office take alone is proof that the film's appeal isn't limited to screaming teen girls. Twilight Reviews: "[A] cloudburst mood piece filled with stormy skies, rippling hormones, and understated visual effects....Hardwicke stirs this teen pulp to a pleasing simmer." -- Grade: B-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly "Props to Kristin Stewart, 18, and Robert Pattinson, 22, for playing this uncool-girl-meets-undead-boy with genuine romantic ardor. They're both terrific."-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "The movie is lush and beautiful, and the actors are well-chosen....TWILIGHT will mesmerize its target audience..."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times 4 stars out of 5 -- "[The backdrop] is truly breathtaking....The lead performance too is strong....Despite the presence of vampires, TWILIGHT is a romance, not a horror..."-- Will Lawrence, Empire 3 stars out of 5 -- "Based on the first in the colossally popular series of novels by Stephanie Meyer, TWILIGHT is an unbridled fantasy for adolescent girls..."-- Ken McIntyre, Total Film "The film succeeds...because it treats high school emotions with unwavering, uncompromising seriousness."-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times Twilight | List Price | $32.99 (You save $4.84) | | Studio | Summit Entertainment | | Orig Year | 2008 | | All Time Sales Rank | 66239 | | CD Universe Part number | 7995782 | | Catalog number | 66110928 | | Discs | 2 | | Release Date | Aug 25, 2009 | | Rating | PG-13 (MPAA) | | Also Known As | Twilight - La Fascination | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Subtitled; Senitype | | Movie Details | Widescreen; Subtitled; Senitype; With Senitype |

BORING this movie SUCKS!!! i dont know why everyone is so nuts over it! worst movie i have seen in a long time Submitted by moviegoer (los angeles CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 4 of 6 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.
NOTHING as good as they say.. I have watched this movie twice and still absolutely nothing about it appeals to me.
The acting: Pattison and Stewart were downright terrible with showing emotion. They either played it up too intensely or not enough, in all the wrong scenes. James' (I don't remember his real name) acting was also a bit too intense, trying overly hard to seem like a bad-ass vampire.
The chemistry: Was that supposed to be love-struck? I don't think I've ever seen a couple that impassive towards each other.
The plot: Yes yes we all know it was taken from a book and had to be cut and compressed, but the manner in which they did this with the story line was so choppy that the entire plot felt extra rushed for me, and it was unenjoyable.
Come to think of it, I honestly cannot thing of anything commendable about this movie. Sorry to all you 13-14 year old obsessives who think otherwise; this movie is one of the worst I've ever seen. $26.15 Is the Harper family living in West London or a lunatic asylum? This BBC comedy series follows loopy dentist Ben (Robert Lindsay) and his gastronomy-challenged wife, Susan (Zoë Wanamaker), as they raise three very different children--devoted loafer Nick (Kris Marshall), drama queen Janey (Daniela Denby-Ashe), and resident oddball Michael (Gabriel Thomson)--with loving distaste and mordant wit. This collection presents the complete second season of the British sitcom, created by American writer and producer Fred Barron (SEINFELD).
The Harpers are back, and their attempts at domestic bliss have hardly improved. Ben (Robert Lindsay) is still at a loss since his dental assistant quit, and is even entertaining the thought of hiring Nick. Home life hasn't helped ease his nerves: Susan (Zoe Wanamaker) suspects that she's pregnant, Janey wants to throw a house party, and Michael is upset that his father doesn't have a more interesting profession. Things seem to look up when a new client shows up and promises to send business to Ben's office, at least until a box of raw meat lands on the Harpers' doorstep in the dead of night.
| | Sicko DVD (2007) Widescreen
Twilight film
$10.09 America's most incendiary filmmaker, Michael Moore, returned in 2007 with this health-care-industry exposé. SICKO tackles material as controversial as the topics explored in Moore's other films, yet does so in a way that places the focus on ordinary Americans affected by the nation's health-care crisis. After providing some historical background on how our nation's medical care system became so ravaged and unfair, Moore interviews a series of individuals and families who have had their lives all but destroyed by the denial of care in the service of profit. While there are two sides to the gun-control debate and even a legitimate discourse for how to best wage the war on terror, it's simply impossible to justify how a baby girl can wind up dead because her mother's health insurance wasn't accepted at a nearby hospital. Moore smartly allows this and other stories to be told with little or no interference, conjuring strong feelings of empathy, rage, and deep sadness.
Of course, SICKO isn't a PBS documentary, it's a Michael Moore movie, and his fingerprints are all over it. Moore visits countries that have universal health care--spectacularly so when he takes several World Trade Center workers to Guantanamo Bay (and then to Cuba) to receive health care that they were denied in the United States--and presents a compelling argument for adopting a similar system in the States. Moore's ultimate purpose here is to compel Americans to care for one another, and it's a simple request that shockingly must be made via a major motion picture, making SICKO essential viewing.
Acclaimed filmmaker Michael Moore's new documentary sets out to investigate the American healthcare system. Sticking to his tried-and-true one-man approach, Moore sheds light on the complicated medical affairs of individuals and local communities.
