| | Train Save Me, San Francisco CD Train Discography of CDs
Personnel: Pat Monahan (vocals); Jimmy Stafford (guitar); Scott Underwood (drums). Audio Mixer: Mark Endert . San Francisco's Train hit the charts with a bang early in the 21st century with hits like "Calling All Angels" and "Drops of Jupiter." They began as a band that courted an alternative audience and quickly traded it -- without changing their sound much -- for a more adult fanbase with mixed results. SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO took four years to make -- remember there was Monahan's solo album in the interim -- and involved a slew of musicians (because only Monahan, guitarist Jimmy Stafford, and drummer Scott Underwood remain from the original group), four studios in the United States and England, songwriting collaborators, and even a handful of producers, though Martin Terefe gets the final credit. The truth is it's a very focused record, centering around the theme of a wandering young rocker who falls in love and wants to settle down. Ultimately however, SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO is a love song to the band's hometown. Save Me, San Francisco Music Train Save Me, San Francisco Songs Save Me, San Francisco Review

| | Sublime Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations (Video) CD (1998)
Save Me, San Francisco
$18.25 STORIES, TALES, LIES & EXAGGERATIONS is a documentary about Sublime. Included is previously unreleased live footage from backyard parties, skate shop performance, intimate acoustic jams and the 1995 Warped Tour. Interviews are also included with group members and friends of the band including Ron Jeremy, Mike Watt, Pennywise, No Doubt, The Ziggens, Lordz Of Brooklyn and producers Paul Leary and David Kahne, who discuss the recording of Sublime's final, self-titled album.. The 1998 Sublime documentary Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations is a must-have for serious fans. Stretching past two hours in length, this video/DVD contains numerous interviews with bandmembers, friends, and family members, and is chock-full of live performances from throughout their career. Interviewees include members of No Doubt, punk vet Mike Watt, all the surviving members of Sublime and their extended family, as well as the late Brad Nowell's father and wife. Although a total of 22 live tracks are included, not all are presented in their entirety (a frustrating trend with most music videos nowadays), but since the majority of Sublime's fans were probably not lucky enough to catch the group live during their tenure together, Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations will serve as the next best thing. ~ Greg Prato
THIS IS A VIDEO, NOT A CD. Long Beach, California. In the late 1980's three guys and a Dalmatian got together in a garage and started to jam. They wrote some songs, started a record label, recorded a CD and unleashed it onto the streets. For years they travelled all over, pissing off promoters and selling CD's out of the trunks of their cars. Sublime has always been so much more than just music. It was and still is a culture, a lifestyle, a family. Check out never before released live footage of backyard parties ...
| | Buzzcocks Product CD (1989) (Import) Box Set; United Kingdom
Save Me, San Francisco
$56.35 A collection of their 3 studio albums, the SINGLES GOING STEADY collection, a 24 minute live radio broadcast, their last three singles, both A and B sides, and a rare track. Comprehensive set by Manchester's original pop punks; Includes informative booklet and all their early hits. U.K. import. Probably the first punk-era box set, Product is an almost-complete collection of the Buzzcocks' original 1976-1980 incarnation. It's only almost complete because it doesn't contain their debut indie EP, Spiral Scratch, the legendary bootleg Time's Up!, or their songs from the Live at the Roxy, London WC2 compilation. By removing the Buzzcocks' earliest and punkiest songs, Product skews the group's history somewhat, presenting them as more of a power pop group than the DIY punk pioneers they were in the very beginning. (Needless to say, this also erases Howard Devoto from the group's history almost entirely.) On the other hand, it's impossible to argue with this music. The Buzzcocks were arguably the best of the first wave of U.K. punk bands (only the Clash could touch them in terms of musical quality, and they weren't ...
