Finnish metallers Children of Bodom have a career-long history of recording covers. SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET, a follow-up to 2008's BLOODDRUNK, collects them on a single compilation with a few new ones thrown into the mix. Along with familiar versions of the Ramones' "Somebody Put Something in My Drink," Slayer's "Silent Scream," Sepultura's "Mass Hypnosis," and Iron Maiden's "Aces High" are lighter tracks that reflect the band's more humorous side. These range from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' out My Back Door" (complete with a banjo solo) to Britney Spears' "Oops, I Did It Again" to Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell." No matter how intentionally campy some of these versions are, they all contain the requisite "heaviness" that Children of Bodom are known for. In addition, there are a couple of new cuts: versions of Pat Benatar's "Hell Is for Children," and Suicidal Tendencies' "War Inside My Head." Internationally--U.S.A., U.K., and Japan--there are three different versions of the set, all with slightly different track listings.

What is Hardcore? To five guys from the small state of Delaware, the word hardcore means the freedom to write music without limits and boundaries.To express ideas & thoughts that transcends the barriers of mainstream pop culture. To emotionally connect to the listeners' mind and amplify their frustration, a segment of society that this world has forgotten… More than a decade ago, Hard Response came onto the scene with a style of hardcore that was original and unique. Taking influences from legendary bands like the Cro-Mags, Sheer Terror, and Leeway, the band forged their own sound; music that would grab the attention of hardcore fans and bring Hard Response to the forefront. Formed in 1989, the goal was simple: to play shows with bands they listened to. Little did they know, two years later they would record their first demo and be sharing stages with bands like Sick of it All, Killing Time, Sheer Terror, Leeway, Hatebreed, V.O.D, & Underdog. With this demo, Hard Response gained the attention of Too Damn Hype records and were chosen to be on the hardcore compilation “Philly Dust Krew”, as well as, the groundbreaking compilation “East Coast Assault” featuring bands such as: Life of Agony, Merauder, Converge and Only Living Witness. Hard Response toured in support of these releases, playing shows with bands such as Madball, Downset, Cro-Mags, Life of Agony, and Clutch. With the success of the compilations and extensive touring, Hard Response not only had the interest of hardcore fans, but the industry as well. The European label, Gain Ground Records quickly signed the band and released their debut full-length, titled Single Bullet Theory.
