Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re High school romance is difficult enough to navigate when both people are human. But for 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart, INTO THE WILD) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE), Edward's life as a vampire complicates things even more. At first, when Bella moves from sunny Phoenix to the rainiest corner of Washington State, she isn't sure where she fits in at her new high school. Then she meets Edward, an ethereal beauty of a boy whose unnatural speed and strength lead Bella to the conclusion that her new crush is one of the undead. Suddenly, Bella's boring life is transformed; she's surrounded by love and danger in equal parts, thanks to the hunger of Edward and others of his kind.
TWILIGHT is based on the first book in the addictive series by author Stephenie Meyer. Director Catherine Hardwicke (THIRTEEN) certainly knows her audience, which is primarily the teenage girls who worship the book and its characters. There are plenty of swoonworthy shots of Pattinson's perfectly pale Edward, and his romance with Stewart's nicely acted Bella will cause many a sigh among the devoted fans. While TWILIGHT is primarily a love story in the ROMEO AND JULIET mold, there's also plenty of action and horror to be found. Blood flows (this is a vampire movie, after all), but the small amount of gore shouldn't be too much for the squeamish viewers--and it might even draw a boy or two to the screen. The film's record-breaking box office take alone is proof that the film's appeal isn't limited to screaming teen girls. Twilight Reviews: "[A] cloudburst mood piece filled with stormy skies, rippling hormones, and understated visual effects....Hardwicke stirs this teen pulp to a pleasing simmer." -- Grade: B-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly "Props to Kristin Stewart, 18, and Robert Pattinson, 22, for playing this uncool-girl-meets-undead-boy with genuine romantic ardor. They're both terrific."-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "The movie is lush and beautiful, and the actors are well-chosen....TWILIGHT will mesmerize its target audience..."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times 4 stars out of 5 -- "[The backdrop] is truly breathtaking....The lead performance too is strong....Despite the presence of vampires, TWILIGHT is a romance, not a horror..."-- Will Lawrence, Empire 3 stars out of 5 -- "Based on the first in the colossally popular series of novels by Stephanie Meyer, TWILIGHT is an unbridled fantasy for adolescent girls..."-- Ken McIntyre, Total Film "The film succeeds...because it treats high school emotions with unwavering, uncompromising seriousness."-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times Twilight | List Price | $26.99 (You save $7.02) | | Studio | Summit Entertainment | | Orig Year | 2008 | | All Time Sales Rank | 50725 | | CD Universe Part number | 8000228 | | Catalog number | 66112339 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Oct 27, 2009 | | Rating | PG-13 (MPAA) | | Also Known As | Twilight - La Fascination | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Subtitled | | Movie Details | Widescreen; Subtitled |

kids This movie seems to be for kids. I don't want to see a movie about 17 year olds . Very monotone and boring. Submitted by Patricia (Detroit , Michigan) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 3 of 4 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.
BORING this movie SUCKS!!! i dont know why everyone is so nuts over it! worst movie i have seen in a long time Submitted by moviegoer (los angeles CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 4 of 6 found this helpful. This review is for a different format.
NOTHING as good as they say.. I have watched this movie twice and still absolutely nothing about it appeals to me.
The acting: Pattison and Stewart were downright terrible with showing emotion. They either played it up too intensely or not enough, in all the wrong scenes. James' (I don't remember his real name) acting was also a bit too intense, trying overly hard to seem like a bad-ass vampire.
The chemistry: Was that supposed to be love-struck? I don't think I've ever seen a couple that impassive towards each other.
The plot: Yes yes we all know it was taken from a book and had to be cut and compressed, but the manner in which they did this with the story line was so choppy that the entire plot felt extra rushed for me, and it was unenjoyable.
Come to think of it, I honestly cannot thing of anything commendable about this movie. Sorry to all you 13-14 year old obsessives who think otherwise; this movie is one of the worst I've ever seen. Twilight review
$8.55 In 1965, 400 American troops faced an ambush by 2,000 enemy troops in the Ia Drang Valley (also known as the Valley of Death), in one of the most gruesome fights of the Vietnam War. WE WERE SOLDIERS is a detailed recreation of this true story: of the strategies, obstacles, and human cost faced by the troops that participated. The story focuses on the lieutenant colonel that led the attack, Hal Moore (Mel Gibson), and a civilian reporter who accompanied them, Joseph Galloway (Barry Pepper), as well as a number of other soldiers who were involved.
This is an unusual Vietnam film in that it also shows the North Vietnamese perspective on the battle; their leader Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu An (Don Duong) is depicted as a brave soldier and smart commander. And in addition to the many gory battlefield sequences--which seem to have been influenced by SAVING PRIVATE RYAN--we also see how the carnage of war affects those left behind, the soldiers' wives and children. Ultimately this is a moving anti-war film, which, by sticking close to the true stories of real soldiers, very effectively brings home the overwhelming horror of war.

$10.99 For his fourth directorial feature in the span of two years, Clint Eastwood tells the story of a grizzled Korean War vet's reluctant friendship with a Hmong teenage boy and his immigrant family. Set in contemporary Detroit, GRAN TORINO tackles the shifting cultural and economic landscape of not only the Motor City, but America as well. Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, an unabashed bigot who never heard a racial insult he didn't love. Bitter, haunted, and full of pride, Walt refuses to abandon the neighborhood he's lived in for decades despite its changing demographics as he clings desperately to a mindset long since out of step with the times. When his Hmong neighbor Thao tries to steal his prized muscle car as part of a gang initiation, Walt is forced to grapple with the world around him.
GRAN TORINO's approach to the complicated issue of race relations is equal parts Archie Bunker and CRASH. That is to say, there is nothing subtle about Walt's bigotry, yet his misanthropy knows no bounds, and Eastwood does a remarkable job of finding the humor in Walt's equal opportunity racism. More than simply a racial morality tale, however, GRAN TORINO is about the unlikely bonds that people form to navigate the subtle complexities every day life. Like MILLION DOLLAR BABY, GRAN TORINO explores the challenging yet rich new world that can open up when individuals let down their guard, even if for just a moment. Estranged from his family and his church, and without any sense of personal peace, Walt offers all that he has to Thao and his family, namely wisdom and protection. When tragedy strikes the family, Eastwood allows a little classic Harry Callahan to poke through, but the surprising finale posits a hero that Dirty Harry would never have the guts to be. It's a potent symbolic gesture to Eastwood's own growth as a storyteller.

Twilight review
$12.64 A beautiful woman is actually an instrument of violent revenge in this blood-spattered action story from Japan. In ancient Japan, people live side-by-side with mechanical human replicas, created by rogue inventors, which have suddenly and dangerously gone mad, leaving a remarkable trail of carnage in their wake. Desperate to avenge the killings and restore order, one of the inventors creates an especially powerful robot from the remains of a beautiful princess, who was murdered along with her friends by one of the androids. The mechanically enhanced princess (Aino Kishi) is equipped with 11 deadly weapons, and she's sent out to do battle alongside a human warrior who has a musical instrument so loud it can be used to destroy his enemies. SAMURAI PURINSESU: GEDO-HIME (aka SAMURAI PRINCESS) was the first theatrical feature for director-screenwriter Kengo Kaji; the cast includes two leading stars of the Japanese adult video industry, Aino Kishi and Mihiro Taniguchi. The film received its North American premiere at the 2009 New York Asian Film Festival.
