Amarilli Nizza is a wonderful singing actress: Sexy in "Tabarro", heart-rending in "Angelica", and in Schicchi - Wow! Her "O Mia babbino caro" has a floated pianissimo ending as good as you could ever hope to hear.
Mastromarino has a powerful baritone, and Pelizzari's ringing tenor in "Tabarro" is really too good. It all makes you keep wondering "where did these guys come from?"
The video is very good, and the sound is excellent. With all three opera on one disc, it's also a bargain.

Irresistible
This is an excellent version of "Il Trittico".
Probably, these three short operas represent a new moment in the creative career of Puccini, and the three contain all that the opera is: passion, suffering and laugh.
