2009 European Concert
This year's Berlin Philharmonic European Concert was held in Napoli led by Riccardo Muti, a native of that southern Italian city. The DVD has 97 minutes of music and features Schubert's Symphony in C major ("The Great") and includes the overture to Verdi's La Forza del destino and Martucci's La canzone dei ricordi sung by Violeta Urmana before an enthusiastic audience at the beautiful Teatro di San Carlo on May 1.
