This time around, a triumvirate of nasty villains from the planet Krypton break free of their dimensional prison and hightail it to Earth, where they enjoy the same superpowers as Superman. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) has discovered that Superman and Clark are the same person, so Superman debates whether to give up his abilities to become a normal man and share his life with Lois. Richard Lester (A HARD DAY'S NIGHT) takes the helm for this sequel, which is arguably the equal of the original hit film. Superman II Reviews: "SUPERMAN II is a marvelous toy. It's funny, it's full of tricks and it manages to be royally entertaining..."

Superman II Movie Review Essential Cinema If you don't have parts 1 & 2 in your collection, you must be from another planet (and not Krypton either). For the day, the action scenes were well-executed. Parts one and two were really one big episode cut into two. So I believe it's moot to bicker about which was better. And Superman showed that when faced with superior brawn...brains win every time. Submitted by Wang Hung Lo (Pensacola, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
A Sequel Better Than The Original As with the three original "Star War" movies, where the second was the best of the three, Superman II is better than the it's predecessor. No need to even discuss numbers III and IV, which were junk. If you want great villains and a neat story line for a superhero, you can't beat Superman II. Not good. Superman II is a mess. You can tell the difference so easily between the Richard Donner and the Richard Lester scenes. It could have been so good coming off the first film, which is top notch quality. Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with the other reviews. You just can't top the first. better the second time around superman 2 is and excellent movie . more action , super villians and story that just flows. christopher reeve as usual with all four films delivers again. as with gene hackman as lex luther. but terence stamp almost steals the show as zod. margot kidder is ok . they should have got another actress but she's passable. much of this movie as i understand was film along with the first movie. that might be why this movie works so well. many of these actors were at the top of their game. It's understanable why i gave this movie 5 stars it's just a shame i couldnt give the next two film 5 stars Submitted by tomao (okc ,ok) Was This Review Helpful? It's not X-Men 2,but it's close Superman 2 is one of those few sequals that is almost better than the first one.The villains are better and the action is greater. Submitted by Blake (Brandon,MS) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$8.35 This classic Monty Python comedy, directed by Pythons Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, is a hilarious send-up of the grim circumstances of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation. When the mythical king of the Britons leads his knights on a quest for the Holy Grail, they face a wide array of horrors, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a cadre of shrubbery-challenged knights, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen.
In addition to the set pieces, the film also includes the same kind of surreal animation that Gilliam contributed to the television series. Throughout the irreverent adventures, the Python crew eschews realism in favor of anachronistic social satire, a recipe it later returned to in the 1979 biblical farce MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN. Melding the ridiculous with the sublime, the film quickly inspired a cult following, generated a host of quotes, and even inspired a computer game 20 years after its release. The numerous songs and hysterical vignettes are sidesplittingly unforgettable.
England's looniest comedy team makes delicious mincemeat out of Arthurian lore. "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" sends up every medieval cliche from the Round Table to the Black Plague, expanding on material created for the groundbreaking TV series.

$9.69 Based on a story by STAR WARS creator George Lucas, WILLOW is director Ron Howard's fantasy world of medieval adventure. WILLOW stars Val Kilmer as Madmartigan, a swashbuckling warrior, and Warwick Davis as the title character. In a mythical kingdom, the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) plots to kill all infants so that the newborn princess, Elora, will never take over the throne. But a midwife sets the baby adrift in a river, and she is rescued by Willow, a farmer in Nelwyn, a peaceful village of trolls, fairies, and little folk. Willow and Madmartigan begin a quest to deliver the baby from evil while being chased by Queen Bavmorda's daughter, Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), sent to bring the baby back to Nockmaar. Director Howard benefited from his affiliation with George Lucas on the film--Lucas's company, Industrial Light and Magic, contributed the Oscar-nominated special effects. Lucas, the executive producer of WILLOW, went on to create a series of books based on the world of WILLOW, the SHADOW WAR series.
