| | Byron Cage Faithful To Believe CD Byron Cage Discography of CDs
Following just two years after his much-ballyhooed 2007 effort LIVE AT THE APOLLO: THE PROCLAMATION, Byron Cage's follow-up FAITHFUL TO BELIEVE is a more refined, less bombastic, but equally passionate live album, this time recorded in Detroit. The latter disc finds Cage and his crack outfit tackling everything from the driving, polyrhythmic grooves and electric sitar riffs of "Faithful to Believe" to the smooth R&B piano balladry of "He Will Answer." Of course, good `ol foot-stompin' church music is never far from center stage, as evidenced by the rollicking, crowd-pleasing "I Can't Hold It." No matter what the musical setting Cage and his band are filled with the spirit, whipping the crowd into a state of joyful exultation.
Personnel: Suzanne Young (vocals); Dave Angell, Pamela Sixfin (violin); Kris Wilkinson (viola); Anthony LaMarchina (cello); Aaron Lindsey (piano, synthesizer); Jevon Hill (keyboards); Joel Reist (double bass).

DARK SIDE OF THE MOON was a benchmark record. It turned the musical world on its ear with a hitherto unseen combination of sounds, and changed things considerably for Pink Floyd. For this project, Pink Floyd resurrected older and unfinished numbers, some of which came from the multitude of soundtracks the band members had previously worked on. The film ZABRISKIE POINT, a study of American materialism from a foreigner's perspective, provided "Us and Them" (originally titled "The Violence Sequence"). Waters rewrote "Breathe" after its appearance on his and avant-garde composer Ron Geesin's score for THE BODY, a surreal medical documentary.
Floyd and their long-time engineer, Alan Parsons, used a multitude of sound effects--from stereophonically projected footsteps ...
| | Brooks & Dunn Greatest Hits Collection CD (1997)
Faithful To Believe
$9.99 A greatest hits collection is almost a redundancy for this chart-topping contemporary country duo, since nearly everything they touch turns to gold (if not platinum). Nevertheless, this compilation condenses the band's catalog, including three brand new tracks, into 19 sparkling gems of country-pop, bound to please both longtime fans and curious first-timers. They're all here, from the band's stellar cover of the pop hit "My Maria" to beer-swiggin' jukebox faves like "Boot Scootin' Boogie" and "Honky Tonk Truth."
What comes across most strongly on this album is the consistency of Brooks and Dunn's work, as it moves from house-rockin' uptempo numbers to sentimental ballads without ...
