After growing up together on the streets of Eugene, Oregon, Matt Barnhart and Jeff Masterson decided to form a band the likes of which the world had never seen. Both attended the University of Oregon where they officially formed Green is for Go. The duo swaps instruments regularly sporting a banjo, violin, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and washboard drums. They have played together since 2003, venturing around the Northwest and beyond. Their secret to success is first taking everything good in the world (rock, bluegrass, folk, comedy, sweet love, etc.), and by channeling from some higher power, turning it into sheer hotness. As Eugene Weekly puts it, Green is for Go “grooves together like a well-oiled machine” and their songs have a “layered, technically impressive acoustic sound” while being “a celebration of all that is young, silly, fast, and fun.” Green is for Go wants to be your friend and make all your wildest dreams come true. Bad Ass album
$11.19 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, who hopped into an empty drummer's chair whenever the opportunity presented itself; and Josh Homme, who set up a mini-empire based entirely on jam sessions. If Them Crooked Vultures brings to mind Homme's projects more than Grohl's or ...

Bad Ass CD music
$15.09 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. ...

Bad Ass CD music
$15.95 Francesco Greggio was born in Padua in 1982. He is a blues guitarist whose music is significantly enriched by different genres such as rock, funk, fusion and jazz. At ten he decided to pursue his passion, beginning formal studies at the music conservatory, studying the clarinet. At the same time, he was attracted and inspired by the guitar, for which he instantly felt a great connection. It was the beginning of an intense study of the instrument, which led to his discovery and love of blues. Soon he began collaborating and performing live with various musicians from rock-blues and rock'n'roll bands. In 2002, he played with the Blue Devils and Marco Pandolfi. In 2003, he founded the Zydeco Hogs; which produces an original repertoire of Cajun, zydeco and blues, typical Louisiana music. In 2003, he enrolled in the Accademia di Musica Moderna in Modena to study under Manuel Belli. There he studied the evolution of the blues guitar in modern music and he delved into other genres such as jazz, rock, funk, and even pop and country. He attended a seminar facilitated by Ed Cherry, the guitarist of Dizzy Gillespie, on blues as universal language, and applied to jazz. He took classes in Ear Training and Functional Harmony. In 2006, he graduated from the Accademia, obtaining his diploma in blues guitar with high marks and finishing two years early. He continued to collaborate with Manuel Belli, playing live and at seminars. With the Zydeco Hogs he recorded a promotional CD which was very well received and has been frequently broadcast on the radio, most notably on Fabio Treves’ Blues Express, on Rock FM. He has participated in several Italian blues festivals such as Deltablues (Rovigo, 2007) where ...
