Avatar Soundtrack album for sale Product Description

Avatar Soundtrack album for sale by James Horner was released Dec 15, 2009 on the Atlantic (Label) label. The score for director James Cameron's epic 3-D sci-fi adventure Avatar was composed by longtime collaborator James Horner, who won an Oscar for his work on the director's 1997 blockbuster, Titanic. Never one to shy away from familiar motifs, the vaguely wistful, mostly magical main theme that weaves its way throughout the film relies unapologetically on the composer's Titanic love theme (try humming the first three notes of the chorus to the Horner-penned Celine Dion smash "My Heart Will Go On"), but the overall feel of the score owes more to Ennio Morricone's iconic work on The Mission, utilizing an atmospheric blend of native drums and choirs with lush, traditional adventure orchestration. Avatar Soundtrack CD music contains a single disc with 14 songs.   ...See Full Description

Adventure in music
James Horner has once again taken the emotions of a great screen adventure even further with his score. This is well worth hearing again and again and a must for any collector of fine music.

James Horner Does It Again...
I got this soundtrack album from CDU before the movie was released... have not yet seen the movie... speculated that this music would be wonderful and incredible... I was right! James Horner is a fabulous composer who has done many great movie soundtrack compositions... this is another! The music is great 'down-time' relaxing & enjoyable, mind / feeling stimulating music... look forward to seeing "Avatar" to connect the music with movie scenes and story line... ....

Just the finest!
Many people accuse James Horner of using similar themes of music for every movie he scores. I admit there are similarities but he crafts the music to fit the screen action and he never has done it better than with Avatar! Soothing and relaxing and it will take you to another world if you close your eyes and take it all in.

Avatar Soundtrack CD music Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate hidden gems like "Cursum Perficio," "Boadicea," "Trains and Winter Rains," and "Anywhere Is." Also notable is the inclusion of "May It Be" and a previously unreleased version of "Aníron (I Desire)," both of which originally appeared on the soundtrack for the first chapter of Peter Jackson's beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy. ~ James Christopher Monger CD/DVD package will be a hardback deluxe slipcase with book featuring Enya art and images. The Very Best Of Enya CD/DVD package features the most comprehensive Enya DVD to date, encompassing thirteen videos as well as interview and behind the scenes footage. It also includes two making of' mini-documentaries examining the creation of the Caribbean Blue and Only Time videos. The DVD will contain audio up mixed to 5.1 surround sound. Twenty-two years have passed since the original release of Enya's self-titled debut album. During that time, Enya has become one of the world's most successful musicians with over 70 million album sales worldwide to her name and an array of authoritative honours including four Grammy Awards and three World Music Awards. The Very Best Of Enya brings together for the first time so much of the earth-spanning music created alongside her close friends and partners in music, Nicky and Roma Ryan. Warner. 2009. Avatar Soundtrack album for sale Listening to the new Indiana Jones score is like donning a 20-year-old leather jacket that's still a perfect fit. And Steven Spielberg's fourth installment of the Indy saga complements composer John Williams's abilities just as snugly. Immediately, the listener is plopped right back into the world of archaeology and adventure. Williams's fast-paced and energetic score still gives new life to the film series. Some classic motifs from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK make their return in updated and rearranged forms. This ties in well with the return of alumnus Indy character Marian Ravenwood, who once again serves as a point of mayhem for the hero. Elsewhere, Williams accentuates the effervescent action sequences with bass-heavy timpani and induces a sense of wonder and mystery with his trademark sinister string arrangements. Audio Mixer: Shawn Murphy. Liner Note Author: Steven Spielberg . Recording information: Sony Pictures Studios, Culver City, CA.

Avatar Soundtrack CD music Those who think they've heard every sound and device in Hans Zimmer's film score bag are in for a surprise with this one for Sherlock Holmes, the 2009 Guy Ritchie film starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams. Zimmer has pulled off a score that rivals his finest work, yet sounds like little of it. Here, sounds are as important as instruments, and they often come from organic means -- through these cues we hear the sound of a piano being played on its side, and resembling something between a dusty upright, a children's instrument, and a Wurlitzer -- check the opening cue "Discombobulate." Other classical instruments are used to warped yet humorous effect -- the trombone in "I Never Woke Up in Handcuffs Before" is a stellar example when played against a gypsy violin, an accordion, dumbeks, and other hand percussion. The comically operatic theater mood of "My Mind Rebels at Stagnation" is quirky and dramatic. A sparely plucked banjo enters with the piano to double with the piano before being joined by a full symphony and a gypsy-polka band before shifting the entire piece into an abundantly orchestrated folk-dance tune. All musical roads lead to "Psychological Recovery . . . Six Months," the album's longest track at over 18 minutes. It is in some ways the cut that evokes Zimmer's sense of the dramatic best, and yet even here there are so many twists and turns, it feels more like a suite than a soundtrack cue. As original soundtrack scores go in the 21st century, this is one well worth exploring -- wonderfully weird and full of minor astonishments and generous quirks that will endear it to listeners of many stripes. ~ Thom Jurek Recording information: Air Lyndhurst, London, UK.
