Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get songs Product Information
Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get album for sale by Joe Walsh was released Dec 08, 2009 on the Audio Fidelity label. "Rocky Mountain Way," the tune that opens Joe Walsh's sophomore release (and remains one of his best-known songs), is a textbook example of Walsh's strengths. The song is driven by a slinky hard rock groove that boasts crunchy, distorted guitars, barrelhouse piano, wiry solos, and a catchy, singalong chorus--proving Walsh's penchant for mixing rock elements and radio-ready accessibility with a sense of wit and fun. Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get CD music contains a single disc with 9 songs. ...See Full Description

|Great remastered Gold CD|
This gold CD is a great audiophile remastered CD from original tapes. I have an older gold CD by MCA that is bested by this new one by Audio-Fidelity. The Audio Fidelity CD is cleaner, crisper and more open sounding. I highly recommend this CD if you're a Joe Walsh fan!

I fell in lust with with Joe's guitar when my older brother turned me on to him in 1970 with the James Gang. The Smoker was different from the Gang and just kicks all over. I still listen to it - Joe Walsh and Joe Vitale together - dream team of rock. Although everyone remembers Rocky Mountain Way from the skating rink and pot parties, MEADOWS is the ultimate 70's rock BEST!! Give a listen and smile.

||Joe Walsh's Best (probably)|
Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get songs I've just dug the original VINYL recording out of my collection after many years of being boxed-up because of house moves. Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get album for sale This recording dates from 1973 and was on Anchor ABC records, catalogue number ABCL5033. It's an absolute gem. When first released the album was an instant hit with the title track "Rocky Mountain Way", but this disguised the wealth and depth of the rest of the tracks. The LP is the epitome of 1970's american rock at its best and has, rightly, become a seminal "classic" with few equals. On the same level as, for example, Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) and Stairway to Heaven (Led Zepellin) this LP represents an the best of a musical era which hasn't really been matched for quality since. Rocky Mountain Way is arguably the best LP Joe Walsh ever wrote. It is certainly the most memorable. "So What" (1974) and the earlier (1972) were without doubt close parallels, but somehow anyone who had their ears on in the early 70's will go to their graves with Rocky Mountain Way in their minds. And a satisfied smile, happy that they were privileged to have heard a true mainstream paragon of excellence.30 years or so on, it still sounds superb, original, well-crafted and brilliantly executed.
