Born Too Late album for sale Product Description
Born Too Late album for sale by Saint Vitus was released Nov 10, 2009 on the SST label. Born Too Late is undeniably a defining effort in the spirit of the early, now considered "classic" doom metal sound. The marriage of vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich, founder of Maryland's D.C. area legends the Obsessed and L.A. 's own legendary doom pioneers Saint Vitus, produced a sound and lyrical landscape that was not commercially successful in its own right, but which has inspired and continues to influence myriad popular culture figures such as the Melvins, Nirvana, L7, Fugazi's Ian McKay, Black Flag's Greg Ginn (owner of SST, Saint Vitus' label) and Henry Rollins, Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Grief, Sleep, Cruevo, and a list of bands, musicians, and genres too long to list without writing a novel. Born Too Late CD music contains a single disc. ...See Full Description

| dust covered gem of an album Born Too Late buy CD music Saint Vitus is at thier best here. Although if you are looking for 80's pop hairband metal, Saint Vitus is not your savior. What they did in thier short career was put together the best DOOM metal to be had from the 80's. In the vain of Black Sabbath? Yes, but Sabbath changed over the years with their fame where St. Vitus stayed the course. This is slow tempo, bottom heavy riffage to shake the foundations of what metal was thought to be all about. Sadly this album collected more dust than fame. It truely is a gem for any fan of the darker, slower, heavier side of metal. By DLT (Dallas, TX, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| most underrated band of the eighties Born Too Late songs for those of us that were into the metal of the 1980's we remember alot of bands that didn't really measure up some of those bands were successful some are still active in some form. St vitus however in my opinion are a sad story one of the hardest hitting talented bands of the time yet they ended their career with less fame than it began with. The critics hailed them as a modern version of black sabbath which in my mind did not help them, who wants to hear whats already been done. I feel they are what sabbath could have been had they stayed true to their original music (without the line up changes). All said st. vitus represents what was best in 80's metal. | Wino at his BEST Born Too Late album for sale Doom metal legend Scott "Wino" Weinrich truly deserves the highest of accolades, and although on this album he doesn't play guitar or write the songs, he still fits perfectly among St. Vitus's sound--which is not far removed from what he does on his own (The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan and The Hidden Hand). Truly a gem from a band trying their best to find their place in a time that wasn't willing to accept their style (a plight perfectly made on the title track of this album). If you're into Wino or Black Sabbath-type doom rock, you MUST own this album! By lordmetalheart (Waterford, MI USA) This review is for a different format. |
