Porcupine Tree: Anesthetize film It is only the band's second ever DVD release and will be available on Kscope in Spring 2010.

This release contains a 2008 concert from the rock band Porcupine Tree. The setlist of well over a dozen songs includes "Sleep of No Dreaming," &"Dark Matter," "Cheating the Polygraph," and "Wedding Nails."

One of the best live concert films...
There are multiple editions of this release. There is the original and very rare Special Deluxe Cloth-bound Coffee Table Book, Limited to 4,000 Grey, 1,000 Red that includes 4 discs: 2 CDs of the performance, 1 DVD and 1 Blu-ray. Of course, there is the common DVD release in a super jewel case. You may also look for the 2-disc digibook that includes both the DVD and Blu-ray, which I believe is the version you will find here. Though, I believe the digibook is also in limited run and this will eventually be replaced by a 2 disc DVD and Blu-ray super jewel case. As for the content, one word sums it up for me... spectacular. You will only find bonus material on the Blu-ray because they could barely fit the concert and audio files on the dual-layer DVD. Because of this, even the DVD has excellent picture quality. However, keep in mind that even though concert was filmed with high definition cameras, and it looks great no doubt, it's the audio that is mind-blowing.

Nicely done
This is the second concert video released by Porcupine Tree [Arriving Somewhere was the other] and directed by longtime video contributor Lasse Hoile. This edition includes both the DVD version and a Blu-Ray version. The Blu-Ray version has five live "films" [tracks] as bonus footage. The DVD has just has the concert. One huge improvement [in my opinion] was that it didn't have the grainy tinkering that was throughout [and plagued?] the Arriving Somewhere DVD. This is just a plain mult-camera video. Audio is of course typical of a Porcupine Tree release - excellent. Th concert includes the complete album right at the beginning of the video [although Anesthetize was about 10 minutes shorter] followed by a scattering of tracks through their career - primarily the last few albums - plus a few chestnuts thrown in. Found it odd that not even an hour into the video we see the band back behind the stage [was that taken before the show?].
