Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating album for sale Product Description
Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating album for sale by Heatwave was released May 11, 2010 on the Edsel label. The U.K. 's Edsel label gives the first two Heatwave albums -- Too Hot to Handle and Central Heating, brilliant releases that reached the Top Five of Billboard's R&B albums chart, crossed over, and marked the arrival of major songwriter, arranger, and keyboardist Rod Temperton -- some much-needed attention. There are five bonus tracks, including the extended version of "The Groove Line," the "Special Disco Version" of "Boogie Nights," and the decent "Too Hot to Handle" B-side "Slip Your Disc to This." One unfortunate gripe: a split-second timing error on the indexing mark between Too Hot to Handle's "Boogie Nights" and "Ain't No Half Steppin'." ~ Andy Kellman Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from the Sou/R&B outfit: Too Hot To Handle and Central Heating. Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating CD music is a 2-disc set with 24 songs. ...See Full Description

Isley Brothers Go All the Way CD (1980)
Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating buy CD music The Isley Brothers entered the 1980s on a high note with GO ALL THE WAY, which, even though it was a huge success at the time, went for decades without a U.S. CD reissue. The album finds the Isleys in full-on slow-jam mode, delivering long, slowly unfurling, luxuriously romantic tunes like the hit "Don't Say Goodnight (It's Time For Love)." The fact that there are only six tracks here, each containing two parts, indicates the extent to which the Isleys take their time in letting the love vibes flow. Their last hurrah of the era, GO ALL THE WAY was the group's last Top 10 album for many years.
The Isley Brothers kicked off their fourth decade with this Platinum, #1 album originally issued in 1980. Previously unreleased on CD in the U.S., Go All The Way is highlighted by #1 hit ballad "Don't Say Goodnight (It's Time For Love)" and finds The Isley Brothers embracing new technology while fortifying their proven strengths. Go All The Way features a half dozen extended fan favorites and chart hits (including "Here We Go Again" and the title track). One of their most melodic albums, all was not quite as harmonious behind the scenes for the 3 + 3 lineup at this point, as former Isley Brothers songwriter/keyboardist Chris Jasper reveals in the enlightening liner notes.
Go All The Way was written at a time when business disagreements threatened to split the group in two. i˘â‚¬Ĺ"We younger guys were gonna do an album on our own in 1980,i˘â‚¬Âť Chris Jasper reveals in an exclusive new interview conducted for this reissue. i˘â‚¬Ĺ"I just started writing some music. I didni˘â‚¬â„˘t have any idea that Ronald would end up singing it when I wrote it.
i˘â‚¬Âť Writing outside the 3 + 3 framework paid artistic dividends, as the fresh and energetic Go All The Way boldly moved The Isley Brothers sound out of the i˘â‚¬â„˘70s and into the i˘â‚¬â„˘80s.
Go All The Way has been digitally remastered from the first generation tapes by 3 time Grammy Award winner Joe Palmaccio, who previously oversaw the reissues of The Isley Brothersi˘â‚¬â„˘ CDs 3 + 3, Live It Up, The Heat Is On and Harvest For The World on Legacy.

|
Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating album for sale Rick James's third album in 18 months may have spread the funk a little thin (or saturated the market), since Fire It Up was not as effective as his first two efforts. The usual mix of rock and R&B had some disco added, which dulled the music's edge and made it more formulaic. At the same time, James's single-entendre come ons, notably the album's biggest single, "Love Gun," were beginning to sound less provocative than just smutty. James had all the weapons for success in his arsenal, but he hadn't yet figured out a unified plan of attack, and Fire It Up was a holding action. ~ William Ruhlmann

Gladys Knight & The Pips Visions CD (1983)
Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating CD music Leon Sylvers produced one of the finest uptempo hits Gladys Knight & the Pips ever made in "Save the Overtime for Me." It was the kind of jubilant, celebratory, rousing performance that had marked their best Motown singles, and it put some fresh life into what had become a stagnant group. The rest of this album wasn't that good, but it hardly mattered. They got a follow-up number five single, another chart hit with a third release, and were back in the game. ~ Ron Wynn
Digitally remastered edition of this 1983 album from the veteran Soul outfit. Visions gave the group a #1 R&B hit in America with 'Save The Overtime (For Me)'. Knight's performances throughout this album are nothing short of stunning. Listen to the way she handles 'Hero', with a bravura aplomb that really does indicate that she had a grasp of bringing the Gospel approach to Soul, while never sacrificing her sensuality. And 'Heaven Sent' is tailor made for her vocals. 10 tracks.

Spinners Dancin' and Lovin' CD (1979)
Too Hot to Handle/Central Heating songs While soul purists recoiled in horror, the Spinners climbed off the ropes and soared back into the spotlight by recasting themselves as a modified dance/crossover band with soul/R&B influences. It worked in the short run, as their remake of the Four Seasons' "Working My Way Back to You," mixed with their own wailer, "Forgive Me Girl," made a nice sandwich at number two pop and number six R&B. It took nearly a year, but they were revived. While they wore the formula out with a similar follow-up, it gave them a fresh start and the necessary credibility to eventually return to their customary sophisticated soul. ~ Ron Wynn
