Joy album Product Description
The album cover to Fefe Dobson's third studio album, Joy, is most likely symbolic. Picturing the young performer collapsed on her own stage, it's likely representative of the five years of drama that Dobson endured after her second album, Sunday Love, was ultimately shelved days before its release and Dobson was dropped from her label. In the time that Dobson was label-less, she was certainly keeping busy, still occasionally touring and songwriting, most prominently with Disney teen prodigy Selena Gomez. Though Dobson saw her career halt and found herself forced to work with artists who can hardly touch her in terms of talent, she never gave up -- and neither did her fans. After releasing two singles independently -- the ever so spunky "I Want You" and the slick and spicy "Watch Me Move" (very clearly a big f-you to her former label) -- she was re-signed to Island Records, and got an independent distribution deal with Universal at the same time. ...See Full Description

| Fefe is finally back! After a long wait, Fefe Dobson is back with "Joy", her second album. "Joy" is a mix of pop rock tunes, ready for radio airplays. The two first singles are "Stuttering" and "Ghost", with strong chorus and cool videos. I wish Fefe recorded more ballads, but this is a good album after all. By rodrigomedina (Rio, Brazil) |

Fefe Dobson CD (2003)
Joy songs Energetic Canadian singer Fefe Dobson makes her debut on this self-titled album. This pop-rock outing leans surprisingly towards the rock side of things, as evident on the punky opener "Stupid Little Love Song." Other hard-charging tunes includes the slowly building "Bye Bye Boyfriend" and the nu-metal stompers "Unforgiven" and "Give It Away." At only 18 years of age, Dobson is a surprisingly proficient singer and songwriter--"Everything" references the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Under the Bridge," but takes the melody to different places, while "Julia" is a mature, melancholy song. A strong and diverse first outing that should appeal to fans of both Avril Lavigne and Blink 182, FEFE DOBSON is a welcome addition to the pop-punk landscape.
