Caught in the Game album for sale by Survivor was released Sep 25, 2001 on the BMG (distributor) label. Caught in the Game had Survivor focusing on a harder rock & roll sound, with greater emphasis stemming from the guitar and percussion, but this new formula didn't fare well commercially and the band failed to put any of the album's songs onto the charts. With Frankie Sullivan finally expressing himself with his guitar playing, the album does manage to establish a vibrant and dominant punch through most of the cuts, but because of this, there's a shortage of musical flow and melodic consistency that becomes apparent after the first few tracks. Turn it up loud
Survivor probably doesn't get the respect they should as a classic heavy rock band; same probably with Foreigner. I always preferred original frontman Dave Bickler, and he is here in fine voice.

Pleasant Surprise
I bought this CD for Caught In The Game as I remembered it from the early MTV days. Much to my surprise, the whole album is strong.

It is a real find for those who love early eighties music and are tired of the over-played rock-pop tunes from so-called "All 80's" music stations.
