| Overpolished Medicrity 'All 'n All' was so huge that when 'I AM' was released we could believe the Earth was back so soon. Though the sound is very polished, the songs are just too commercial and seemed to sound packaged, something we hadn't experienced with EWF. After the hit power of 'Boogie Wonderland', 'After the Love Has Gone' and 'In The Stone' subsided, we could finally figure what was missing...the band. David Foster overproduced the album (he did the same thing to Chicago). Even though 'I AM' is an enjoyable and very good recording, it's one of only two sub par EWF recordings ('Electric Universe' is the other). By St.Dvy (Windham, Me.) This review is for a different format. |
