The 1963 Salzburg Festival mounted this production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's five-act comic opera The Marriage of Figaro (1784), with a cast that included Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Hilde Güden, Graziella Sciutti and Geraint Evans Nozze di Figaro film. The entire production appears in this release. It features musical accompaniment by The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and The Chorus of the Vienna State Opera; Loren Maazel conducts and Rudolf Sellner directs for the stage.
