Heaven's Gate Blu-ray (1980)
Widescreen
Lucidite Passagere film An epic post-Vietnam look at the Western genre and the exploitation of immigrant settlers, HEAVEN'S GATE is based on the historical 1890s Johnson County War incident in Wyoming. Visually remarkable sequences and a haunting score frame the story. Sheriff James Averill (Kris Kristofferson), educated in the east and full of idealism, attempts to protect immigrant farmers when wealthy land barons hire mercenaries to settle their scores. The hired guns, including Nathan Champion (Christopher Walken), plan to kill a number of farmers whose names appear on a death list and whom the farmers believe have been stealing their cattle. Backed by the army and the federal government, the mercenaries prepare to attack the farmers when Averill and Champion clash over the impending massacre and Ella Watson (Isabelle Huppert), a local prostitute and woman they both love. Shot right after Cimino's triumphant DEER HUNTER, the film is a violent, unsentimental look at the American frontier.
Kris Kristofferson brings his weathered sensuality to the role of a Harvard graduate who has relocated all the way to Wyoming as a federal marshal; there, he learns of a government-sanctioned plot by rich cattle barons to kill the area's European settlers for their land. The resulting skirmish is based on the real-life bloody Johnson County War of 1892. Also stars Isabelle Huppert and Christopher Walken. Special features include New restoration of the 5.1 surround soundtrack, supervised by Cimino, new illustrated audio interview with Cimino and producer Joann Carelli, New interviews with Kris Kristofferson, David Mansfield, and Michael Stevenson, The Johnson County War, a video interview with historian Bill O'Neal; more.

Dancing in September DVD (2001)
Lucidite Passagere video Tomasina "Tommy" Crawford (Nicole Ari Parker) is a talented writer wasting her time working for a two-bit sitcom. George Washington (Isaiah Washington) is a slick executive looking to make a name for himself at startup network WPX. James (Vicellous Reon Shannon) is a young single father who sells "charity" candy bars on the street and has a lot to learn about parenting. When Tommy pitches a new show to George, the three suddenly join forces on JUST US, a black sitcom that takes on serious issues while still filled with the requisite one-liners. Meanwhile, the CPAA (modeled on the NAACP) is in the midst of a major campaign, complaining about the lack of positive minority chararacters on the major networks. As success comes to Tommy, George, and James, the three must reevaluate their personal and professional lives as they are accused of being sell-outs. Written, produced, and directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood, DANCING IN SEPTEMBER is a smart, well-written look into the supposedly glamorous world of network television and what makes a hit show. Parker, Washington, and Shannon are excellent as the three network stars who get more than they bargained for. The film also features many fun mock-sitcom parodies that are reminiscent of actual television shows.
