Yes Album album for sale Product Description
Yes Album album for sale by Yes was released Jun 29, 2010 on the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab label. On Yes' first two albums, Yes (1969) and Time and a Word (1970), the quintet was mostly searching for a sound on which they could build, losing one of their original members -- guitarist Peter Banks -- in the process. Their third time out proved the charm -- The Yes Album constituted a de facto second debut, introducing the sound that would carry them forward across the next decade or more. Yes Album CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs. ...See Full Description

| Mobile Fidelity=Home Run The Mobile Fidelity gold version of The Yes Album is stunning. It sounds dynamic, a new experience even if you have heard thus album 1000 times. The first time the masters were properly encoded and it shows. Anyone who claims that this is "compressed" is delusional. MFSL is not Audio fidelity, who have issued compressed discs from copy tapes. Not Mobile Fidelity. And BTW, you have to really look for the mastering credits, Rob LoVerde. It's not in big bold letters all over the packaging and disc like other "labels" who think that the "mastering engineer" is more important than the artist. By Richard (Cleveland, OH, USA) |
| This is the best sound you can get period.!!!!! If you have been looking for a perfect cd of any yes album please look no further. I have several pressings of this album on Vinyl and Compact disc and the clarity, dynamics, bass and depth of these HDCDs is wonderful. Its the closest thisng to a mint 1st pressing LP you will get and then some. drew. By a reviewer (Jacksonville Florida) This review is for a different format. |
| Non Fan Review! Many of my friends were, and are, Yes fans. I tolerated listening to their albums. But I purchased this one. Why? Because it was their best album. Now I don't know a lot about Yes, but I do know good, creative, original, progressive music when I hear it. Or at least I did 30 years ago. This is the album for those coming to Yes. A superb introduction to Yes with an excellent collection of songs, music and sounds - to inspire, enjoy and repeat over and over again. Sorry if I have upset the Yes purists - someone has to knock you around now and then! By Chris. (Sarasota FL.) This review is for a different format. |
| Essential listening for any Prog Rock fan I have searched all over the progressive rock universe to find an equal to Yes. There simply is no equal. Guitarists like me can find jaw dropping licks in Howe's country, jazz, and classically influenced styles. Just make an MP3 file out of these tunes and use a software slowdowner program to study the licks. I play bluegrass as well as rock and find great ideas in "Yours is no disgrace, and "Starship Troopers" All their albums have great moments, but this is the place to start!
